【場景一】

New year is coming~,大家都沒有合適的伴侶共度新年,於是Chandler提議6個人不允許單獨活動,而是一起愉快地度過新年,然而他卻……

Chandler: Yeah, 'cause I Already asked Janice(估計沒有人不認識這位MM吧?).
Monica: What?!
Ross: Come on, this was a pact! This was your pact!
Chandler: I snapped, okay? I couldn't handle the pressure and I snapped.
Monica: Yeah, but Janice? That-that was like the worst breakup in history!
Chandler: I'm not saying it was a good idea, I'm saying I snapped!

【場景二】

新年party在Monica的公寓舉行,Ross帶着Marcel(那只有着一張白色小臉的可愛猴子)來湊熱鬧,Monica可是一點兒都不喜歡它...

Ross: Par~~~ty!
Monica: That thing is not coming in here.
Ross: 'That thing'? This is how you greet guests at a party? Let me ask you something, if I showed up here with my new girlfriend, she wouldn't be welcome in your home?
Monica: I'm guessing your new girlfriend wouldn't urinate on my coffee table.
Ross: Okay. He was more embarrassed about that than anyone. Okay? And for him to have the courage to walk back in here like nothing happened...
Monica: Alright. Just keep him away from me.
Ross: Thank you... Come on, Marcel, what do say you and I do a little mingling? (Marcel迅速扔下Ross跑開了) Alright, I'll catch up with you later.

【講解】

1. pact n. 契約，約定，合同

Chandler:I say this year, no dates,we make a the six of us- dinner.

2. snap—>snapped v. 猛地吸住，突然折斷，使劈啪地晌，猛咬； n. 猛咬，突然折斷，劈啪聲 adj. 突然的

snapshot 快照，也是來源於snap的突然、猛然之意

在這裏，snapped字面的意思是“折斷了”應理解爲“頂不住壓力了，無法承受了，改主意了，毀約了”之類的意思。

3. mingle—>mingling v. 混合，結合，交往，往來,與他人一起加入或參加
