Just after midnight someone knocked at their door.
It was one of the colonels who had earlier tried to convince my father to leave my mother behind and travel to the UK.
門外是一開始試着要說服我父親把母親留在巴基斯坦，跟我一起去英國的上校。He told my father that he absolutely had to travel with me or I might not be taken at all.
他告訴父親一定要跟我一同前去，否則我可能無法入境。
'I told you last night the issue was resolved,' my father replied. 'Why did you wake me?
“我昨晚就告訴你我的難處在哪裏了。”父親答道，“你爲什麼還把我叫醒？I'm not leaving my family.'
我是不會離開我的家人的。”Once again, another official was called to talk to him.
另一位官員也被叫來說服父親。'You must go. You are her parent, and if you don't accompany her she may not be accepted into the hospital in the UK,' he said.
“你一定得去。你是她的家長，你如果不一起去，英國的醫院可能不會接收她。”'What's done is done,' my father insisted. 'I am not changing my mind.
“我已經決定了。”父親堅持道，“我是不會改變心意的。We will all follow in a few days when the documents are sorted out.'
過幾天文件下來後，我們會一起過去。”The colonel then said, 'Let's go to the hospital as there are other documents to sign.'
於是上校說：“跟我們去一趟醫院吧，你還得籤幾份文件。”My father became suspicious.
父親有些疑惑。It was after midnight and he was scared.
已經半夜了，他有些害怕。He didn't want to go alone with the officials and insisted my mother come too.
他不想獨自跟着軍官走，於是他堅持要母親與他一起前往。My father was so worried that for the whole time he repeated a verse of the Holy Quran over and over.
父親很擔心，在去醫院的路上，他全程不斷地複誦《古蘭經》的經文。It was from the story of Yunus who is swallowed by a whale like the story of Jonah in the Bible. This verse was recited by the prophet Yunus when he was in the tummy of the whale.
這段經文是先知尤納斯在鯨魚肚子裏的時候念過的經文。It reassures us that there is a way out of even the worst trouble and danger if we keep faith.
經文告訴我們，只要擁有信仰，即便最糟糕的情況，也能解決。
