What is pink? A rose is pink 什麼是粉紅色?
By the fountain's brink.噴泉邊的玫瑰就是粉紅色。
What is red? A poppy's red 什麼是豔紅色?
In its barley bed.在大麥牀裏的罌粟花就是豔紅色。
What is blue? The sky is blue 什麼是蔚藍色?天空就是蔚藍色，
Where the clouds float thro'.雲朵飄過其間。
What is white? A swan is white 什麼是白色?
Sailing in the light.陽光下嬉水的天鵝就是白色。
What is yellow? Pears are yellow，什麼是黃色?梨兒就是黃色，
Rich and ripe and mellow.熟透且多汁。
What is green? The grass is green，什麼是綠色?草就是綠色，
With smAll flowers between.小花摻雜其間。
What is violet? Clouds are violet 什麼是紫色?夏日夕陽裏的
In the summer twilight.彩霞就是紫色。
What is orange? Why， an orange，什麼是橘色?當然啦!
Just an orange!橘子就是橘色。

'Tis the last rose of summer 這是夏日最後的玫瑰
Left blooming alone;獨自綻放着;
All her lovely companions 所有昔日動人的同伴
Are faded and gone;都已雕落殘逝;
No flower of her kindred，身旁沒有同類的花朵，
No rose-bud is nigh，沒有半個玫瑰苞，
to reflect back her blushes，映襯她的紅潤，
Or give sigh for sigh.分擔她的憂愁。
I'll not leave thee， thou lone one!我不會離開弧零零的你!
To pine on the stem;讓你單獨地憔悴;
Since the lovely are sleeping，既然美麗的同伴都已入眠，
Go， sleep thou with them.去吧!你也和她們一起躺着。
thus kindly I scatter 爲此，我好心在散放
Thy leaves o'er the bed 你的麗葉在花牀上
Where thy mates of the garden 那兒，也是你花園的同伴
lie scentless and dead.無聲無息躺着的地方。
Soon may I follow，不久我也可能追隨我朋友而去，
When friendships decay，當友誼漸逝，
And from Love's shining circle 像從燦爛之愛情圈中
The gems drop away.掉落的寶石。
When true hearts lie withered，當忠誠的友人遠去，
And fond ones are flown，所愛的人飛走，
O! who would inhabit 啊!誰還願留在
This bleak world alone? 這荒冷的世上獨自淒涼?
