Dionysian art, too, wishes to convince us of the eternal joy of existence: only we are to seek this joy not in phenomena, but behind them.
We are to recognize that all that comes into being must be ready for a sorrowful end;
我們應該知道：存在的一切必須準備着悲慘的沒落；we are forced to look into the terrors of the individual existence--yet we are not to become rigid with fear:
我們不得不進窺個人生存中的恐怖，可是我們不應因恐怖而麻木不仁。
a metaphysical comfort tears us momentarily from the bustle of the changing figures.
一種超脫的慰藉使我們暫時逃出了滄桑世變的紛擾。We are really for a brief moment primordial being itself, feeling its raging desire for existence and joy in existence;
我們在這短促的一剎間真的成爲“萬物之源”本身，感到它的熱烈的生存慾望和生存快慰。the struggle, the pain, the destruction of phenomena, now appear necessary to us, in view of the excess of countless forms of existence which force and push one another into life, in view of the exuberant fertility of the universal will.
現在，我們覺得這些鬥爭、痛苦、萬象的毀滅是不可避免的，因爲多得不可勝數的生活方式在生存競爭中彼此衝突，因爲普天下的意志像荒郊野草茂密繁生。We are pierced by the maddening stings of these pains just when we have become, as it were, one with the infinite primordial joy in existence, and when we anticipate, in Dionysian ecstasy, the indestructibility and eternity of this joy. In spite of fear and pity, we are the happy living beings, not as individuals, but as the one living being, with whose creative joy we are united.
正當我們彷彿同生存之無限歡欣合而爲一之際，正當我們在醉境的陶醉中期待這種快樂永垂不朽之際，在這一剎間，我們就深感到這種痛苦的鋒芒的猛刺。縱使有恐懼與憐憫之情，我們畢竟是快樂的生靈，不是作爲個人，而是衆生一體，我們就同這大我的創造歡欣息息相通。
