美國媒體巨頭康卡斯特宣佈退出競購福克斯業務

Comcast has formally withdrawn its competing $65 billion bid to acquire 21st Century Fox, ceding the rights to the entertainment company to Disney's upped $71.3 billion offer.

康卡斯特已經正式撤回了對21世紀福克斯公司的650億美元的收購報價，將這家娛樂公司的收購權讓給了報價713億美元的迪士尼公司。

Comcast says it will instead shift all focus to its ongoing efforts to acquire Europe's Sky instead.

康卡斯特稱，他們將把所有的注意力轉移到正在進行的Europe's Sky的收購上。

Per an official statement from the company, "Comcast does not intend to pursue further the acquisition of the Twenty-First Century Fox assets and, instead, will focus on our recommended offer for Sky."

根據該公司的一份官方聲明，“康卡斯特不打算進一步收購21世紀福克斯資產，相反將專注於我們對Europe's Sky的推薦報價。”

Disney first announced its bid for Fox's assets -- which include the movie studio 20th Century Fox, the company's TV production arm 20th Century Fox Television, Fox-owned cable networks (including FX and National Geographic), and a controlling stake in Hulu -- in a $52.4 billion bid last December.

But following AT&T's successful acquisition of Time Warner, Comcast was emboldened to make a $65 billion all-cash bid of its own, confident that regulatory approval for a Comcast-Fox deal wouldn't be an issue.

但在AT&T成功收購時代華納之後，康卡斯特大膽地提出了每股650億美元的全現金收購邀約，相信監管機構批准收購康卡斯特的交易將不會成爲一個問題。

Disney countered that offer with a $71.3 billion bid last month, and it seems that Comcast isn't interested in going any higher.

但上個月迪士尼公司又提出了713億美元的收購價格，而這次康卡斯特似乎對繼續提高價格不感興趣了。

Now that Comcast is no longer trying to steal Fox out from under it and antitrust approval from the Justice Department is already secured, it would seem that there aren't any obstacles left for Disney's landmark acquisition.
