講解：

該習語的意思是：合某人心願。此語出自《聖經·舊約》中的《撒母耳記》上卷第十三章的第十四節。撒母耳 Samuel 任以色列術師 Judge 時，奉耶和華之命，順從民意，立掃羅 Saul 爲王，建立了以色列王國。可是掃羅的所作所爲不蒙耶和華的喜悅，其便讓撒母耳再立新王即後來的大衛 David. 之前撒母耳對掃羅說：“現在你的王位必不長久，耶和華已經尋着一個合他心意的人 a man after his heart.”此語就是由此而來，至今語義不變。
