Even a minor fender bender can cost thousands of dollars to repair.

But what about repairing a totaled Ferrari or Bugatti?

The recent mega accident that claimed a baker's dozen of supercars in Japan along with reports of insurance fraud in the dramatic Bugatti Veyron crash from 2009 made us take an unfortunate trip down memory lane.
最近大量的超級跑車事故，包括在日本發生的13輛超級跑車連環撞車事故，還有一宗布加迪威龍的保險欺詐案，讓我們不得不回憶起那一連串倒黴的跑車事故。
Since money is the only qualification needed for purchasing a supercar, there are many drivers who are just out of their depth with a high horsepower ride.

And occasionally they demonstrate it very publicly.

13. Bugatti EB-110

What is the car worth? $500,000

And what happened? The EB-110 was in for service when the mechanic took it out for a ride. He claims that he hit an oil slick which spun the car into a pole.

No matter what, the owner could not have been pleased with the service.

And what happened? The owner drove the car like a madman and paid the price.

And what happened? This Gullwing was in a race, the Carrera Panamericana, which is run each year in Mexico for classic cars.

It seems the driver lost control in pretty fantastic fashion during one of the stages.

And what happened? This owner was trying to show off in front of his friends at the golf course.

9. Monaco Crash

And what happened? Like any typical day in Monaco, there was a fender bender between a Bentley and a Mercedes. But then the Bentley hit a Ferrari and ran into an Aston Martin and a Porsche.

According to MSNBC, the repair bill came to around $160,000.

And what happened? The third Ferrari 250 variant on the list, the Ferrari 250 GTO is one of the most iconic and recognizable cars of all time. This owner crashed at a track event.

But we do give him credit for getting out there with the car and not keeping it cooped up in a garage forever.

And what happened? Rowan "Mr. Bean" Atkinson is actually a car enthusiast and amateur race car driver. He even holds the fastest time for a guest on British show Top Gear's test track. But his McLaren has had a couple mishaps, most recently in 2011 outside London.

And what happened? There have been numerous Enzo crashes, but this 2006 accident is one of the most memorable.

A Swede with possible Mafia connections, Stefan Ericksson crashed the car on an early morning while racing a Mercedes McLaren SLR at speeds well over 100 MPH. Amazingly he walked away.

And what happened? Another controversy here as video captured the driver crashing right into a lake. A lawsuit has now been filed against the owner as it is believed to be part of an elaborate case of insurance fraud.

And what happened? The unfortunate owner of this Ferrari was storing it near the ocean when a hurricane hit.

As you can see, it is pretty destroyed.

3. Japan's Supercar Melee

And what happened? A group of supercars were driving on the highway in Japan. A Ferrari went for a pass and lost control, which resulted in a pileup of epic proportions.

Eight Ferraris, three Mercedes, one Lamborghini, one Nissan GT-R, and, somehow, a Toyota Prius were all caught up in the wreck.

And what happened? This Ferrari 250 Tour de France was crashed in a classic car event in 2003.

The owners know these risks going in, and unfortunately there are occasionally bad consequences.

4. Pagani Zonda F Clubsport

And what happened? Investment banker Steffan Korback stepped on the gas a little too hard for the conditions and aquaplaned across a large amount of water. The car turned sideways and backed into the barrier.

Ironically, he was on the way to Pagani's factory to pick up their latest car, the Huayra.
