1. give it a shot
釋義：To try something. （嘗試着做某事）
例句：A: Do you want to try driving my car to see how you like it?
你要不要試試開我的車，看看這車如何？
B: Yeah, sure, I'll give it a shot.
當然想啦，我來試試。
I don't usually like hot tea, but it's so cold out that I gave it a shot today.

In his latest book, he tries his hand at fiction.

After he left school, he tried his hand at a variety of jobs — bricklayer, baker, coal man.
