爲什麼外國人要用blue blood來表示「尊貴」？
我們經常能從各類時尚報道中看到“藍血品牌、紅血品牌”這種說法，更有“六大藍血、八大紅血”之稱。這裏出現的藍血對應英文blue blood，但並不表示“藍色的血液”，而是“尊貴，高貴”的意思。
blue blood作爲短語，常用來表示“社會地位高”，而在英美語境中，也常用作名詞，表示“貴族血統，貴族（descent from nobility；a person of such descent; aristocrat）”；形容詞形式則是blue-blooded，這個表達源於西班牙語中的sangre azul。
那麼爲什麼外國人會用它來表示「尊貴」呢？
這其中存在着文化淵源：
藍血人屬於上等階級，因爲很少在戶外活動的人血管會透過白皙的皮膚呈現出藍色，過去這種人通常是上等階級。
