China will start selling fruit and vegetables directly to Russia, and Baorong company plans to set up aspecial logistics center in Dongning on the border with Russia's Far Eastto do it.

The 70,000 square meter wholesale marketand 30,000 square meter warehouse, fitted out with refrigerators and otherequipment, will be in a special cross-border customs zone, ITAR-TASS cites thehead of the Association of Applied Economy of the Heilongjiang Province ZhangChunjiao.

塔斯社援引黑龍江省應用經濟研究會會長張春姣的話報道，面積達7萬平方米的批發市場和3萬平方米的倉庫將出現在跨境海關特區，兩者都配備了冰箱和其他設備。

"Direct export of fruit and vegetables to Russia will beorganized from it," she said.

她說，“我們將在此安排直接對俄出口蔬菜水果的程序”。

It will cost $9.7 million to oms clearance times will be reduced, and there will be no need todouble-check the cargo because of video surveillance in the warehouse.

建設成本將達970萬美元。通關的次數將會減少，由於倉庫裏安裝了視頻監控，貨物無需進行二次通關查驗。

A Chinese company Dili, also intends tocreate a similar cross-border trade zone by the end of 2014, Zhang Chunjiaoadded.

The announcement comes after Russia introduced a 1-year ban on imports of someagricultural products from the EU, US, Australia,Canada, Australia and Norway last week. If it lasts, itcould cost European Union members $16billion, Vygaudas Usackas, the EU ambassador to Russia, estimated.

Member states have already complained theireconomies would be hit hard, with Germanyand Poland losing the most trade with Russia, and theBaltic states – Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia – seeing their shares of GDP falling even sharper.
