China is planning to provide Internet access to alMost all of its poor villages in the next three years as part of efforts to narrow the urban-rural digital gap.

More than 98% of China's 122,900 registered poor villages will have access to the internet by 2020, according to a plan for internet poverty reduction published by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology.

根據工信部印發的推進網絡扶貧實施方案，到2020年，全國12.29萬個建檔立卡貧困村寬帶網絡覆蓋比例將超過98%。

The ministry will work to provide both broadband and 4G data network to the villages, and encourage telecom operators to offer special discounts on network charges to provide quality internet services at a low cost.

工信部將推進貧困村寬帶和4G數據網絡覆蓋，鼓勵電信運營商推出扶貧專屬資費優惠，爲貧困村提供優質且低成本的網絡服務。

It also plans to ask cell phone producers to develop more low-priced, easy-to-use smart phones.

此外，該部門還計劃引導手機廠商研發成本更低、簡單易用的智能手機。

China had 1.08 billion 4G network users at the end of April, while fixed-broadband subscribers to China's three major telecom operators -- China Telecom, China Unicom and China Mobile -- reached 366 million.

截至今年4月底，中國共擁有1.08億4G網絡用戶，而中國三大電信運營商--中國電信、中國聯通和中國移動的固定寬帶接入用戶總數達3.66億戶。
