讀書筆記：張培基英譯散文 《海上日出》03

中文：
有時太陽走進了雲堆中，它的光線卻從雲裏射下來，直射到水面上。這時候要分辨出哪裏是水，哪裏是天，倒也不容易，因爲我就只看見一片燦爛的亮光。

英文：
Sometimes，hidden by the clouds, the sun nonetheless shed its rays straight onto the sea water, making it difficult for me to distinguish between the sky and the sea because what I saw in front of me was nothing but a wide expanse of brilliant light.

要點：
 1，“有時太陽走進了雲堆中”此處譯者爲了與下文照應，採用了主動轉被動的手法~此句也可以理解爲以“太陽”爲主語的多動詞句，“射出光線”爲主要動詞，“走進雲堆”是次要動詞，譯爲過去分詞形式，至於句首~

2，”射到水面上“譯爲shed rays onto the sea，其中shed 此處意爲”灑“

3，此句 譯 文 中有 3處 使 用 了 頭 韻 ： sun／ shed ／ straight ／seawater 、 difficult和distinguish、 s k y 和 s e a 。體現了散文的美感，讀起來也是朗朗上口滴~

4，the sun nonetheless shed its rays straight onto the sea water中 ， 將 原 文 “ 光線從雲裏射 下來 ”“ 直射到水面上 ” 兩個動作合譯，讀起來一氣呵成，流暢自然~後面直接用making連接兩個句子，也體現了原文的簡潔

英文：
Sometimes, with thick layers of dark clouds hanging in the sky, the sun was hardly visible to the naked eye. But its radiance managed to show through the dark clouds to edge them with golden lace. Then, after gradually breaking through the tight encirclement, it came into full view and even dyed the dark clouds purple or scarlet. At the moment, apart from the sun，the clouds and the seawater, I too was luminous.Wasn't that a marvelous spectacle?

要點：

1，“太陽出來人眼還看不見” 非 人稱 主語 使 折射 一 定 生 命 內涵 的動 詞 被 “ 挪 用 ”於不具 生命 的主語 ， 這樣 的句 式 就 自然 而然 地 抹 上了擬人色彩。譯爲“ t h e s u n w a s h a r d l y v i s i b l e t o t h e n a k e d e y e ” ， 符合英語行文。而且 ， 把太陽賦與人性 ，以非人稱主語替代人稱主語 ， 表達頓趨簡潔 ， 而且顯 得生動活潑

2，“透過黑雲”此處譯爲managed to show through the dark clouds，用penetrate也可以，從上文的emerge到這裏的manage to do，譯者運用大量人性化的動詞，將原文的“擬人化”的手法表現得淋漓盡致~

3，scarlet（緋紅，猩紅），本段乃至全文對於顏色的描寫都非常細緻，值得借鑑和總結~

4，“這時候發亮的不僅是太陽、雲和海水，連我自己也成了明亮的了。”譯爲At the moment, apart from the sun，the clouds and the seawater, I too was luminous. 是作者借景抒情，不知不覺地融入到自然環境當中 ，情和景 在此刻完全交融在一起了。” 譯者刻意調整句子重心，將這種 遞進關係傳神地傳達給了讀者 ，主次分明，突出此時此“ 我 ” 的融情於景 。

要點：
 本段重點在於合譯，譯者增用 了when, and, except for幾個連接詞 ，把漢語表達的意思串聯了起來,表達的邏輯之美由此而生 。

天空還是一片淺藍，顏色很淺。轉眼間天邊出現了一道紅霞，慢慢地在擴大它的範圍，加強它的亮光。我知道太陽要從天邊升起來了，便不轉眼地望着那裏。

英文：
The sky was pale with a bluish hue. Soon a streak of pink dawn broke over the horizon，expanding gradually and becoming brighter and brighter. Knowing that the sun was about to rise, I had my eyes fixed on the distant edge of the sea.

要點：

1，“還沒有大亮”=be not quiet light，在《看月》中，有個“沒有‘斷黑’”= is not yet quite dark，“大亮”“斷黑”都是程度副詞+形容詞的結構，通常用quiet+adj結構

2，“機器的響聲”譯爲the droning of the ship engine.。“機器”這裏指輪船上的steam engine,即蒸汽發動機，不宜譯爲macine.另外“響聲”譯爲droning,表示機器的單調低沉的嗡嗡響聲，較單純的sound更有形象感

3，“淺藍”=bluish，意爲“帶點藍的，淺藍色的”， -ish這個後綴表示”帶…性質的，稍…的“，在《離別》和《杜鵑》中，我們也見到過此類構詞法，這類表示顏色的詞大家要注意，因爲文學作品中出於細節刻畫的需要，會將顏色描寫得十分具體，翻譯時也要注重選詞的準確和美感哦~

4，“天邊”是指海天交接之處，即“地平線”，譯爲the horizon，之後的“那裏”文中處理爲the distant edge of the sea,避免了重複

5，“一道紅霞”也可譯爲a streak of rosy dawn或a rosy streak of dawn

綜述：
本文是一篇寫景短文，文字簡潔樸素，細節化的描寫使得文章繪聲繪色，因此文章雖短，但由於細節較多，所以也不是很好譯哦
