1. 解詞釋義

Brush off的原意是“刷掉，刷掉, 撣掉, 拂掉”的意思。例如：Dust on the surface brushes off easily. （表面的灰塵容易撣掉。）Please brush this insect off.（請把這隻蟲撣掉。）在口語中，可以用來表示“拒絕，漠視，不理睬”等意思。

使用這個短語的時候，注意brush off之間既可以接something，也可以接somebody。它除了做動詞短語用外，還可以做名次短語用，但是需要用—連字符將其連接起來。例如：She gave me the brush - off. （她不理我。）I wanted to keep in touch, but when I called him he gave me the brush-off.（我想和他保持聯繫，但當我打電話給他時，他卻不理睬我。）
