1. wear thin 打折扣；逐漸消失

意思是某一樣東西在一段時間裏，它的功能和價值在逐步降低，也就是中文裏說的損耗。這可以指具體的東西，也可以用在其他方面。

2. through thick and thin 不畏艱險；在任何情況下
