英語中如何表達"各種窮"

一提到“窮”，好多人首先想到的必定是Poor。其實呢，就像老外形容“老人”時不用old、用senior一樣，poor這個詞他們也是不太常用的。那應該怎麼用英語形容“窮”呢？一起來看。

Poor給人一種消極感，所以可以試試更爲中性的struggling（艱難的）或disadvantaged（弱勢羣體的）：

1. There are a lot of struggling families who need our help.
有很多艱難度日的家庭需要我們的幫助。

2. He lived his whole life as a struggling artist and didn't become famous until after his death.
作爲藝術家，他一生貧困潦倒，直到死後才成名。

3. This scholarship supports disadvantaged youth who can't afford to pay for their education.
該獎學金用以資助那些負擔不起學費的貧困年輕人。

4. A new educational program has been set up for economically disadvantaged children.
他們設立了一個新的面向貧困兒童的教育計劃。

表示“沒錢”還有很多口語化表達，比如美劇中常見的broke（破產了）等：

5. I can't afford to go on holiday this year - I'm flat broke.

6. Nobody loves you when you're down and out.
你窮困潦倒的時候沒人喜歡你。
