四、課外拓展

Now let’s look at today’s final topic, things to do around the house.
In the UK we normally don’t have building management so when something breaks we have to fix(修理) it ourselves or call someone.

When a lightbulb(燈泡) breaks you should replace(替換) it with a new one.
When the power goes out you should check the fuse box.(熔絲盒)
If your TV breaks you can check its wiring.(電線)
If your pipes(管道) are blocked(阻塞) you can try and unblock(解鎖) them.
And if your washing machine(洗衣機) breaks you can repair it with tools.(工具)
You can find your tools in your toolbox.(工具盒)

If you cant fix something, who can you call?
A plumber(水管工人) fixes problems with the pipes.
An electrician(電工) fixes problems with wiring and fuses.
A carpenter(木匠) can repair a broken chair or table.
A locksmith(鎖匠) fixes locks and keys.

Sometimes it can be extremely(非常) expensive to call these people to your house, so many people choose to repair broken things by themselves.
In China I normally call the building management to help me, as they are free and know more about fixing things than I do!

Thank you everyone for joining me today, we will finish our lesson here, see you next time.
