It is well that young men should begin at the beginning and occupy the most subordinate positions. The concerns which fail are those which have scattered their capital, which means that they have scattered their brains also. They have investments in this, or that, or the other, here there, and everywhere. “Don’t put all your eggs in one basket.” is all wrong. I tell you to “put all your eggs in one basket, and then watch that basket.” Look round you and take notice, men who do that not often fail. It is easy to watch and carry the one basket. One day it was announced to all of the feelings that the island was going to sink to the bottom of the ocean. So all the feelings prepared their boats to leave .
Love was the only one that stayed. She wanted to preserve the island paradise until the last possible moment.
When the island was almost totally under, love decided it was time to leave.
She began looking for someone to ask for help. Just then Richness was passing by in a grand boat. Love asked, "Richness, can I come with you on your boat?"
Richness answered, "I'm sorry, but there is a lot of silver and gold on my boat and there would be no room for you anywhere."
Then Love decided to ask Vanity for help who was passing by in a beautiful vessel. Love cried out, "Vanity, help me please!" "I can't help you," Vanity said, "You are all wet and will damage my beautiful boat."
Next, Love saw Sadness passing by. Love said, "Sadness, please let me go with you."
Sadness answered, "Love, I'm sorry, but, I just need to be alone now."
Then, Love saw Happiness. Love cried out, "Happiness, please take me with you." But Happiness was so overjoyed8 that he didn't hear Love calling to him.
Love began to cry. Then, she heard a voice say, "Come Love, I will take you with me." It was an elder. Love felt so blessed1 and overjoyed that she forgot to ask the elder his name. When they arrived on land the elder went on his way. Love realized how much she owed the elder.
Love then found Knowledge and asked, "Who was it that helped me?""It was Time,' Knowledge answered. "But why did Time help me when no one else would?"Love asked.
Knowledge smiled and with deep wisdom and sincerity, answered, "Because only Time is capable of understanding how great Love is.
愛和時間
從前有一個島，所有的情感都住在那裏：幸福、悲傷、知識和所有其它的，愛也不例外。一天，所有的情感聽說小島即將沉沒，因此建造小船，紛紛離開，除了愛。

幸福經過愛的身邊，它太開心了，根本沒聽見愛在呼喚。
突然，一個聲音喊道：“來，愛，我帶你走。” 聲音來自“年老”。愛太高興了，甚至忘了問他們即將去何方。當他們來到岸上，年老自己離開了。愛突然意識到“年老”給了它多大的幫助。
於是，愛問另一位老者--知識：“誰幫助了我?”
知識說：“是時間。”
“時間?”愛問：“但是時間爲什麼幫助我?”
知識睿智地微笑道：“因爲只有時間瞭解愛的價值。”
