一波音777客機在迪拜迫降後起火

Dubai International Airport, one of the world’s busiest, was forced to suspend operations for nearly six hours yesterday after an Emirates passenger jet crash-landed and burst into flames in an incident that killed a firefighter.

全球最忙碌的機場之一迪拜國際機場(Dubai International Airport)昨日被迫臨時關閉近6個小時，此前一架阿聯酋航空(Emirates)客機在緊急迫降後起火，事故導致一名消防員殉職。

Emirates said all 282 passengers and 18 crew on board were safely evacuated from the Boeing 777, which had come from the southern Indian city of Thiruvananthapuram. However, Dubai’s Civil Aviation Authority later announced a firefighter died tackling the blaze.

阿聯酋航空表示，機上所有282名乘客以及18名機組人員從這架波音777(Boeing 777)客機安全撤離，該機是從印度南部城市蒂魯文南特布勒姆起飛的。然而，迪拜民航局(Civil Aviation Authority)後來宣佈，一名消防員在救火時喪生。

Footage posted online showed the aircraft sliding along a runway at about 12.45pm on one wing, with its engine apparently detached. A section of the right wing then appeared to explode. Fuel tanks are located in both wings and the fuselage of modern jets.

網上公佈的影像資料顯示，下午約12時45分，這架飛機一側機翼傾斜，沿着一條跑道滑行，發動機明顯脫離，接着右翼的一段似乎發生爆炸。現代飛機的油箱位於兩個機翼和機身。

It was not immediately clear what caused the crash but it appeared the aircraft’s landing gear failed on landing.

目前還不清楚事故原因，但該機的起落架似乎在着陸時未能打開。

The airport closed immediately but reopened at 6.30pm. Dozens of departures were cancelled and incoming flights were diverted to other airports in the Gulf. There were people from 20 countries among the passengers and crew of the plane, including 226 Indian nationals, 24 from the UK and 11 United Arab Emirates citizens.

迪拜國際機場隨即關閉，但在下午6時30分重新開啓。很多出站航班被取消，入站航班備降海灣地區其他機場。失事飛機上的乘客和機組人員來自20個國家，包括226名印度人、24名英國人以及11名阿聯酋公民。

DIA is the world’s busiest international airport by passenger numbers because of the rapid growth of Emirates, which uses the airport as its worldwide hub. It is particularly important for travellers going to and from south Asia.

由於阿聯酋航空的業務快速增長，按乘客數量計算，迪拜國際機場是全球最忙碌的國際機場。這家航空公司把這個機場作爲其全球樞紐。該機場對於進出南亞的旅客尤爲重要。

The 777 has generally enjoyed an excellent safety record. Its first serious crash was in January 2008 when a British Airways 777 crash-landed at London’s Heathrow airport after fuel lines to both engines froze on approach. There were no casualties.

波音777總體上擁有卓越的安全記錄。這種機型首次發生嚴重事故是在2008年1月，當時一架英國航空(British Airways)的波音777客機在倫敦希斯羅機場緊急降落，因飛機在降落時通向兩個發動機的油路結冰發生堵塞。當時沒有人員傷亡。

In December 2013, a 777 operated by Korea’s Asiana crashed on landing at San Francisco International Airport after the pilots misjudged their approach. Two passengers died.

2013年12月，由於飛行員判斷失誤，一架由韓亞航空(Asiana)運營的波音777客機在舊金山國際機場(San Francisco International Airport)降落時墜毀，導致兩名乘客死亡。

Boeing said it was thankful the aircraft had been evacuated safely. A Boeing technical team was standing by to support investigators.

波音表示，對於機上人員安全撤離感到欣慰。一個波音技術團隊正待命準備支援事故調查人員。
