研究顯示 單身女性要比單身男性更快樂

Women are happier being single than men are, because being in a relationship is harder work for women, new research suggests.

最新研究顯示，單身女性要比單身男性更快樂，因爲對女性而言，處於戀愛關係中要比男性更辛苦。

According to a study by data analysts Mintel, 61 per cent of single women are happy being single, versus 49 per cent of single men.

根據數據分析企業英敏特公司所做的一項調查顯示，61%的單身女性對於單身狀態感到快樂，而單身男性中有這種感覺的比例爲49%。

The survey also found that 75 per cent of single women have not actively looked for a relationship in the last year, compared to 65 per cent of single men.

該調查還發現，75%的單身女性在過去一年中沒有主動尋找戀情，而這一比例在單身男性中爲65%。

And the proposed reason for this is that for women, being in a heterosexual relationship is actually a lot of hard work, and generally requires more effort and labour than for men.

出現這種現象的原因是因爲，對女性而言，身處一段異性戀關係中實際上是十分辛苦的，且與男性相比較，通常女性需要付出更多的努力和勞動。

"There's evidence that women spend longer on domestic tasks than men and I think they also do more emotional work," Professor Emily Grundy, of the University of Essex, told The Telegraph.

英國埃塞克斯大學的艾米麗·格倫迪教授在接受《每日電訊報》採訪時稱：“有證據表明，女性做家務的時間比男性要長，而且我認爲她們還會做更多感情方面的事情。”

From spending more time and money on upkeep of your appearance, doing more chores and putting more effort into resolving problems or arguments, being in a heterosexual relationship typically involves a lot of effort for a woman.

從花更多時間和金錢保持自己的外表，到做更多家務以及爲解決問題或爭吵而付出更多努力，對女性來說，身處異性戀關係中通常要付出大量的努力。

What's more, women are simply happier being single than men are.

更重要的是，女性單身比男性單身更快樂。

"Women tend to be better at having alternative social networks and other confidantes whereas men tend to rely quite heavily on their wives for that and have fewer other social ties," Dr Grundy explains.

格倫迪解釋稱：“女性往往更擅長建立替代性社交網絡以及結識其他知己，而男性在這方面往往嚴重依賴自己的妻子，且擁有的其他社交關係也少一些。”

"Certainly there's a common finding from a lot of studies that women who don't have a partner tend to do more social activities and more friends compared to women with partners whereas with men it's the reverse - men without a partner tend to do much less of that. So it may be that women have a wider range of alternatives."
