主謂一致：並列結構作主語
我們知道，中英一大區別在於，英文中存在“主謂一致”問題，即要求句子中的主語和謂語動詞在“人稱”和“數”方面保持一致。
但若是並列結構作主語，謂語動詞又當如何呢？並列結構作主語，主謂一致問題通常要分爲以下幾種情況：
1. and/ both...and
（1）若意義爲複數，則謂語用複數。
Both Lucy and her mother like going shopping. 路西和她媽媽都愛購物。
（2）若並列結構不是指兩個或以上的人/物，則謂語用單數。
Egg and rice is her usual breakfast. 她早上通常吃蛋炒飯。
（3）並列結構中有each, every或many a等限定詞，謂語一律用單數。
Every boy and every girl in this class is good at English.
這個班每個男生女生英語都很好。
2. or/ nor/ either...or
由or/ nor/ either...or連接的並列結構，主謂通常遵循“就近原則”。
Either my parents or my brother is at home. 要麼我爸媽在家，要麼我哥哥在家。
3. as much as
若主語後面跟着由as much as, rather than, more than, no less than等引導的從屬結構，謂語根據主語本身單複數而定。
His brother rather than his parents is at home. 是他哥哥而不是他爸媽在家。
4. as well as
若主語後面跟着as well as, in addition to, with, along with, together with 等引導的詞組時，謂語動詞取決於主語本身。
The boy, together with his parents, is visiting the museum.
這個男孩和他父母正在參觀博物館。
由上可知，並不是所有並列結構都是兩個或以上的複數概念！因此，當並列結構作主語時，謂語切不可主觀採取“一刀切”的方法，而是要具體問題具體分析。
