Joint Press Release Between the People’s Republic of China and the Republic of the Union of Myanmar
1、應中華人民共和國國務院總理李克強邀請，緬甸聯邦共和國國務資政昂山素季於2016年8月17日至21日對華進行正式訪問。訪問期間，習近平主席會見了昂山素季國務資政。李克強總理同昂山素季國務資政舉行會談。張德江委員長同昂山素季國務資政舉行會見。雙方就傳承中緬傳統友誼、推進新時期中緬全面戰略合作伙伴關係深入交換意見，達成重要共識。
1. At the invitation of Premier Li Keqiang of the State Council of the People’s Republic of China, State Counsellor Aung San Suu Kyi of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar paid an official visit to China from August 17 to 21, 2016. During the visit, President Xi Jinping met with State Counsellor Aung San Suu Kyi. Premier Li Keqiang held talks with State Counsellor Aung San Suu Kyi. Chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People’s Congress Zhang Dejiang met with State Counsellor Aung San Suu Kyi. The two sides exchanged in-depth views and reached important consensus on inheriting China-Myanmar traditional friendship and promoting bilateral comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership in the new era.
2、雙方高度評價中緬“胞波”情誼，作爲和平共處五項原則的共同倡導者，始終秉持上述精神，推動雙邊關係在相互尊重、相互信賴、平等互利的基礎上取得長足發展。雙方表示將繼續奉行睦鄰友好政策，優先發展雙邊關係，提升兩國人民福祉，推進兩國的穩定發展。雙方重申將以兩國人民利益爲重，從戰略高度和長遠角度出發，推動中緬全面戰略合作伙伴關係不斷取得新進展。
2. The two sides spoke highly of China-Myanmar “Paukphaw” friendship. As co-initiators of the Five Principles of Peaceful Coexistence, China and Myanmar always adhere to the above spirit and promote bilateral relations for substantial progress on the basis of mutual respect, mutual trust, equality and mutual benefit. Both sides said that they will continue to pursue a good-neighborly and friendly policy, give priority to the development of bilateral relations, improve the well-being of the two peoples as well as advance the stable development of the two countries. Both sides reaffirmed that they will focus on the interests of the two peoples and push forward China-Myanmar comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership for continuous and new progress from a strategic height and a long-term perspective.
3、雙方同意保持高層密切接觸傳統，加強戰略溝通，深化治國理政經驗交流，進一步密切各層級特別是政黨與民間的友好交往與合作。
3. Both sides agreed to maintain the tradition of close high-level contact, enhance strategic communication, deepen experience exchange in state governance and administration and further intensify friendly exchanges and cooperation at all levels, especially between political parties and the people.
4、雙方同意加強邊境地區的法制化管理，加強經貿合作和各種形式的友好交往，促進兩國邊境地區民生改善。
4. Both sides agreed to strengthen law-based management in border areas, and enhance economic and trade cooperation as well as all kinds of friendly exchanges so as to improve the livelihood of people in the border regions.

5、雙方同意進一步密切在聯合國等多邊場合的協調，在氣候變化、自然災害和傳染病防控等涉及發展中國家訴求和挑戰的全球性議題上保持密切協作。

Both sides agreed to further intensify coordination in multilateral occasions such as the United Nations and maintain close collaboration in global issues concerning the demands and challenges of developing countries in such areas as climate change, natural disasters and epidemic prevention and control.
6、緬方歡迎中方倡導的“一帶一路”和孟中印緬經濟走廊合作倡議。雙方將繼續用好經貿聯合委員會、農業合作委員會、電力合作委員會等政府間合作機制，加強經貿、農業、水利、電力、產能、金融等各領域互利合作。
6. Myanmar welcomes China’s “Belt and Road” initiative and the cooperation initiative on the Bangladesh-China-India-Myanmar Economic Corridor. The two sides will continue to make good use of such intergovernmental cooperation mechanisms as the Joint Commission on Economy and Trade, Commission on Agricultural Cooperation and Commission on Electric Power Cooperation, and strengthen mutually beneficial cooperation in various areas including economy and trade, agriculture, water conservancy, electric power, production capacity and finance.
7、中方讚賞緬甸政府推進民族和解、改善民生的施政理念和政策舉措，支持緬甸政治轉型，走符合本國國情的全面包容性發展道路，確保民族和解與和平，促進經濟發展，保持社會和諧。中方願繼續爲緬甸經濟社會發展提供力所能及的幫助，並願採取具體措施支持緬方改善民生的努力。緬方對中方爲緬甸經濟社會發展提供支持深表感謝。緬方願同中國政府加強合作，進一步促進貿易和投資，創造就業，減少貧困，幫助緬實現公平公正發展。緬方重申堅持一箇中國原則，在臺灣、涉藏、涉疆問題上理解並支持中方立場。
7. China appreciates the administration concepts, polices and measures of the Myanmar government in advancing national reconciliation and improving people’s livelihood, supports Myanmar’s political transition, backs the country to follow a comprehensive and inclusive development path in line with its national conditions, and supports its efforts to ensure national reconciliation and peace, boost economic development and maintain social harmony. China is willing to continue to provide assistance for Myanmar’s economic and social development within its capacity and is ready to take specific measures to support Myanmar’s efforts in livelihood improvement. Grateful for China’s support in its economic and social development, Myanmar is willing to strengthen cooperation with the Chinese government, further enhance trade and investment, create employment opportunities and reduce poverty rate, so as to help Myanmar achieve fair and just development. Myanmar reiterated that it sticks to the One-China policy, understands and supports China’s stance on the Taiwan issue, Tibet-related issues and Xinjiang-related issues.
8、雙方同意進一步加強合作，確保邊境地區和平穩定。中方支持緬方通過政治對話實現國內和平與民族和解。緬方感謝中方發揮積極建設性作用，支持緬方推進民族和解與和平進程的努力。
8. Both sides agreed to further bolster cooperation to ensure peace and stability in border areas. China supports Myanmar to realize domestic peace and national reconciliation through political dialogues. Myanmar appreciates China’s positive and constructive role and its efforts in supporting Myanmar’s course of national reconciliation and peace.
9、昂山素季國務資政轉達了吳廷覺總統對習近平主席的誠摯邀請，請習近平主席對緬進行國事訪問。習近平主席表示感謝。
9. State Counsellor Aung San Suu Kyi conveyed the sincere invitation of President U Htin Kyaw to President Xi Jinping and invited President Xi Jinping to pay a state visit to Myanmar. President Xi Jinping expressed his gratitude.
10、昂山素季國務資政對李克強總理和中國政府在訪問期間給予她及代表團的熱情歡迎和高規格接待表示誠摯感謝，邀請李克強總理在雙方方便的時候儘早訪問緬甸。李克強總理表示感謝。
10. State Counsellor Aung San Suu Kyi expressed her sincere thanks to Premier Li Keqiang and the Chinese government for the warm hospitality and high-level reception she and the delegation received during the visit, and invited Premier Li Keqiang to visit Myanmar as soon as possible at the convenience of both sides. Premier Li Keqiang expressed his gratitude.
