聖誕將至，公司一片繁忙，大家正着手籌建新的項目，包括初期市場調研，新款產品設計和產品銷售等。美國老總在會上對大家說：We have to jump at the chance.

jump表面意思是“跳”，而在口語裏經常含有“魯莽而心急行事” 的意思，和leap（跳躍）相似。關於jump我們前面學過jump the gun（操之過急），另外還有jump the queue（插隊）；而關於leap則有look before you leap（三思而後行）。所以我們今天學的jump at the chance也跟“快速，心急”有關，不過卻是褒義，意爲“（迅速地）抓住機會”，這裏的chance是“機會，時機”的意思。如果有人問起公司在黃金假日階段新一輪的銷售計劃，你就可以回答說：We have to jump at the chance.我們必須把握機會。
