Dear Ashley,

Please accept my deepest apologies for my mistake in regard to leaking customer information to people from the other department.

It was not my intention to create such an awkward and embarrassing situation for our department.

If there was any good that came out of this unfortunate experience, it is that I have grown and learned Alternative approaches to these situations.

Please feel free to let me of your thoughts and concerns over this matter. You can reach me at email.

Sincerely,

Jim

Dear Mr Minister,

On behalf of the United States Government, I now outline steps to resolve this issue.

Both President Bush and Secretary of State Powell have expressed their sincere regret over your missing pilot and aircraft. Please convey to the Chinese people and to the family of pilot Wang Wei that we are very sorry for their loss. Although the full picture of what transpired is still unclear, according to our information, our severely crippled aircraft made an emergency landing after following international emergency procedures. We are very sorry the entering of China's airspace and the landing did not have verbal clearance, but very pleased the crew landed safely.

We appreciate China's efforts to see to the well-being of our crew. In view of the tragic incident and based on my discussions with your representatives, we have agreed to the following actions:

Both sides agree to hold a meeting to discuss the incident. My government understands and expects that our air crew will be permitted to depart China as soon as possible.

The meeting would be April 18, 2001.

The meeting agenda would include discussions of the causes of the incident, possible recommendations whereby such collisions could be avoided in the future, development of a plan for prompt return of the EP-3 aircraft, and other related issues. We acknowledge your government's intention to raise U.S. reconnaissance missions near China in the meeting.

Sincerely

Joseph W. Prueher

Dear John,

I am eagerly looking forward to your visit to our city. After all these years of writing to each other, I can not wait to see you. However, I regret to inform you that I will not be able to meet you at the airport on time.

The reason is that your flight will arrive early in the Morning, and the earliest I can reach the airport will be about an hour after you land. Will you please wait for me in the arrival lounge? You can have breakfast while you wait.

By the way, as we have never met I must tell you home to identify me: I am of 165cm tall and have a long hair. In addition, I will wear a white skirt and carry a China Daily at hand.

Hope we can meet soon.

Sincerely yours,

Alice

Dear Mr。 Wang,

I am writing to apologize for my late homework。 The paper which you have assigned to us last Monday was due this Friday, but to my regret, I haven't even started it yet。 I feel really sorry for not handing in the paper on time and for the inconvenience it would bring to you。

I have caught a serious cold last week and the doctor asked me to stay in bed for a week since I was very weak and the weather was very cold these days。 Therefore, I couldn't go to the library to get the necessary referential information which was needed for my paper。 As a result of this, I have not started writing the paper yet and could not hand it in on time。

Fortunately I have finally fully recovered。 I will finish the paper as soon as I can and try my best to hand in homework on time in the future。

Sincerely yours,

Li Ming
