終於有“大姨媽”表情包了！以後討論經期不用害羞啦

作爲新晉全球性“語言”代表的Emoji，要有“大姨媽”專用表情啦！

2月5日，全球統一碼聯盟（Unicode Consortium）在其官方網站發佈Emoji 12.0版本。在這59個新表情中有一個代表月經的符號：一滴紅色的液體（drop of blood）。

A single red blood drop is among the list of 59 new emojis announced by the Unicode Consortium, the organization in charge of developing the official emojis of the world.

And while it's just a nondescript drop of blood that can certainly be used to mean a variety of things, Unicode's site specifically lists "menstruation" as one of its associated keywords—a win for women the world over who just want to tell their partners/friends/moms that they're on their period and have feelings about it.

雖然這只是一滴普通的血滴，可以表示各類的事情，但全球統一碼聯盟的網站專門將“月經”列爲其關鍵詞之一——這是全世界的女性的勝利，她們終於可以告訴伴侶/朋友/媽媽，自己正處於經期以及她們的感受。

2月6日，全球婦女權利慈善機構英國國際計劃組織（Plan International UK）就發推“官宣”了月經emoji通過的消息：激動地告訴大家，我們即將擁有第一個真正的月經表情了。

這組新表情最快將於今年3月正式上線。

這意味着，今後使用微信、QQ等軟件聊天時，可直接用表情符號來指代“月經”。

設計前後經歷兩年

早在2017年，英國國際計劃組織就發文稱，在針對18-34歲女性進行的調查中，有47%的女性認爲，代表經期的emoji會讓女性朋友和伴侶之間更容易討論月經。

英國國際計劃組織在2017年初發起“用表情包代表經期”活動，以期使得月經談話正常化（in an effort to normalize the conversation around menstruation），該活動最終得到約5.5萬人支持。

This new addition comes on the heels of Plan International UK's campaign for a period emoji following a 2017 survey by the organization that highlighted the ongoing stigma and shame around menstruation among girls and women in the UK.

最終網友投票選出了“經期內褲”這一方案前去送審，不過，負責爲表情包編碼並對其實施管理職能的全球統一碼聯盟組織拒絕了這個方案。

英國國際計劃組織沒有就此放棄，而於去年再次提交了新一版“月經表情”申請：一滴紅色的液體。這個設計是該組織與英國國家醫療服務體系的血液與移植中心合作完成的。

When the proposal wasn't accepted, Plan partnered with NHS Blood and Transplant and submitted a new proposal for the winning blood-drop emoji.

打破月經“羞恥”

經過2年的努力，月經表情終於通過，對於女性來說，獲得了某種不可言說的權利，至少增加了交流的便捷性。同時，此舉也被視爲打破“月經羞恥”的重要一步。

英國國際計劃組織女孩權利部門負責人Lucy Russell說：

The inclusion of an emoji which can express what 800 million women around the world are experiencing every month is a huge step towards normalising periods and smashing the stigma which surrounds them.

這個表情包可以表達全球8億女性每個月都在經歷的事情，加入這個表情是將月經正常化和打破其污名的重要一步。

For years we've obsessively silenced and euphemized periods. As experts in girls' rights, we know that this has a negative impact on girls; girls feel embarrassed to talk about their periods and they can suffer health implications as a consequence.

An emoji isn't going to solve this, but it can help change the conversation. Ending the shame around periods begins with talking about it.

一個表情包並不能解決這些問題，但它確實能幫助改變人們的討論。從開放討論一步步解除人們對於月經的羞恥感。

在很長一段時間內，月經一直是女性比較私密又關注的大事，第一次來月經代表着女性開始長大成人，而最後一次月經的結束代表着女性將進入更年期，逐漸衰老。

月經如此重要，卻從來沒有一個表情包代表它，也不會有人在公共場合討論它，因爲它長時間習慣於被定義爲女性隱私之事，不可大聲喧譁，只能收斂於內心。

有了月經emoji，今後可能出現這樣的對話：
