當地時間12月2日,英國議會下院經過10小時的激烈辯論,最終同意空襲敘利亞境內伊斯蘭國目標的動議。

Britain's House of ComMons on Wednesday voted to support a government motion on extending UK airstrikes against the Islamic State to Syria after 10 hours of intense debate.

據悉,空襲動議通過後不久,已有至少兩架戰機從英國在塞浦路斯的空軍基地出發,打擊敘利亞境內“伊斯蘭國”,另有四架英國皇家空軍戰鬥機在阿克洛迪瑞(Akrotiri)基地待命。

At least two British Warplanes have reportedly taken off from Cyprus to strike the Islamic State (IS) militant group in Syria, shortly after the British MPs voted in support of the striking a reports suggested that four fighter jets are on standby at RAF Akrotiri air base.

Britain's House of Commons on Wednesday voted to support a government motion on extending UK airstrikes against the IS group operating in Syria after 10 hours of intense motion, requesting British "military action, specifically airstrikes, exclusively against ISIL (IS) in Syria," was approved by 397 votes to 223.

2014年9月,英國下院授權英政府對伊拉克境內的伊斯蘭國進行空襲,此次通過的動議將空襲伊斯蘭國的範圍從伊拉克擴大到敘利亞境內。

The approval will pave the way for British warplanes to extend their bombing missions from Iraq to ain has been bombing IS, also known as ISIL, ISIS or Daesh, in Iraq since the House of Commons voted to authorize airstrikes in the Middle East country in September 2014.

It is necessary, and it is the right thing to do to keep our country safe," he said in his opening ribing IS militants as "women-raping, Muslim-murdering, mediaeval monsters," Cameron said he wants to "pursue a comprehensive strategy that also includes political, diplomatic and humanitarian action."

英國的反戰人士得知此消息後,聚集抗議,希望政府不要捲入戰爭。超過1000名反戰示威者聚集在議會大樓外,抗議投票結果,呼籲政府不要轟炸敘利亞。

The debate and vote came amid continued protests against British military intervention in Syria. More than 1,000 protesters, led by the Stop the War coalition, demonstrated outside the Parliament Wednesday, chanting and holding placards reading: "Hands off Syria", "Don't bomb Syria" and "Say no to more imperialist war", among others.
