法國最新留學政策出臺 非歐盟留學生學費將飆漲

University fees for students outside of the EU, which would include Brits after Brexit, are set to shoot up by as much as 16 times the current cost, the French prime minister has announced.

法國總理近日宣佈，包括英國脫歐後的英國學生在內的所有來自非歐盟地區的留學生，其大學學費將最多飆升至目前學費的16倍。

The cost of attending a French university for students from outside the European Union is set to shoot up from 170 euros to 2,770 euros per year, a jump of 16 times the current fees, from autumn 2019.

從2019年秋季起，歐盟以外的學生就讀法國大學的費用將從每年170歐元增加到2770歐元，比目前的費用增加16倍。

That means, with Britain set to leave the EU in March 2019, British students who want to attend a university in France could be paying thousands of euros every year to do so.

這意味着，隨着英國將於2019年3月離開歐盟，想要在法國上大學的英國學生每年可能會需要支付數千歐元。

French Prime Minister Edouard Philippe said that at the moment a "wealthy foreign student pays the same tuition fees as a poor French student whose parents have lived, worked and paid taxes in France for years".

The situation is "absurd" and "unfair", he said.

At the moment a degree costs 170 euros per years while a masters costs 243 euros and a PhD costs 380 euros but once the change is introduced these fees will rise to 2,770 euros for a degree and 3,770 euros for the two higher qualifications.

目前，學士學位費用爲每年170歐元，而碩士學位費用爲243歐元，博士學位費用爲380歐元，但一旦引入變更，學是學位費用將升至2770歐元，後兩個較高學歷的成本將高達3770歐元。

The government has stressed that these increased fees still only represent "one third of the real cost" of the courses, with the rest paid for by the French State.
