全球科研城市榜單出爐

Beijing ranked as the top science city globally, followed by New York, Boston, San Francisco/San Jose and Shanghai, in the Nature Index global science city 2020 rankings.

近日發佈的“自然指數-科研城市2020”將北京列爲全球科研城市首位，紐約、波士頓、舊金山-聖何塞地區和上海緊隨其後。

Four other Chinese cities - Nanjing, Wuhan, Guangzhou and Hefei - ranked among the top 20 global science cities.

除北京之外，還有四座中國城市——南京、武漢、廣州、合肥躋身全球科研城市排行前20位。

David Swinbanks, founder of the Nature Index, said a concentration of talent, funding, research institutions and other resources is crucial for the top five global science cities to maintain their leading positions.

自然指數創始人戴維·斯文班克斯表示，人才、資金、研究機構和其它資源的集中，是全球五大科研城市保持領先地位的重要因素。

A key metric used by the index is "share" - a city's contribution to science publication in its own country.

該指數使用的一個關鍵指標是“份額”，即一個城市對本國科學出版物的貢獻。

Data shows Beijing's contribution to China was 21%, more than double that of any other city in the top five.

數據顯示，北京對中國的科學文章貢獻份額爲21%，是排名前五的其他城市的兩倍多。

Beijing is also home to the Chinese Academy of Sciences, which, at the institutional level, leads the index in share and acts as a central hub of Chinese scientific collaboration.

北京還是中國科學院所在地，中國科學院的貢獻份額位居機構首位，同時它也是中國科研合作的樞紐。
