Today I'm talking to Desmond Butler, Managing Director of Klikset, the construction toy which every youngster wants. Welcome Desmond.

Hello Jenny. So, how did it all start?

你好，珍妮。那麼，是怎麼開始的呢？

I'd been running my father's plastic component business and I'd taken it as far as I could, and was bored.

我一直在經營我父親的塑料部件生意，我盡了最大的努力，但感到厭倦。

We were producing make-up cases you know, eye shadow, lipstick，mascara cases and so on.

我們生產化妝品盒子，你知道，如眼影，口紅，睫毛膏等等。

It was a steady market, although very competitive, but I needed a new challenge. I was getting quite a good income from it, but money isn't everything.

So what gave you the idea for Klikset?

I was at a wedding party, sitting in a corner toying with plastic drinking straws on my table thinking about the manufacturing process that made them.

我參加了一個婚禮，坐在一個角落裏擺弄着桌子上的塑料吸管，想着製作這些吸管的過程。

I began piecing them together and managed to build a small flat structure.

我開始把它們拼湊在一起，做成了一個小的平面結構。

I realised that with the right connectors I could build some impressive objects and I thought this might be the seed idea for a new toy.

我意識到，有了合適的連接器，我可以製造一些令人印象深刻的物品，我認爲這可能是研發新玩具的種子想法。
