1、He is not a public servant. He is a public enemy.

他不是人民公僕,而是人民公敵。

人民公僕;政府官員


public enemy

公敵


e.g: His views made him public enemy number one in the eyes of the media.

他的觀點讓他成了媒體的眼中釘。


2、Freedom isn't given, it is taken.

自由不是別人施與的,是自己爭取的。


something isn't given, it is taken.

某事不是別人施與的,而是自己爭取的。我們可以把這句話套用在別的地方。


e.g: Happiness isn't given, it is taken.

幸福不是別人施與的,而是自己爭取的。


3、I knew where I stood with him, so to speak.

可以說,我知道我倆是統一戰線的。

可以說;就是說;恕我直言


e.g: Your computer is, so to speak, in danger once being connected to the network to browse.

一旦連接上網測覽,你的電腦可以說就處於危險之中了。


4、On the mend, I hope.

希望你痊癒。


be on the mend=be recovering

正在好轉;正在痊癒


e.g: He's had flu, but he's on the mend.

他得了流感,不過正在好轉。


5、It's safer if you go native and tap into the grid on the ground.

你們裝做本地人慢慢接近他們會更安全些。

接近;開發,發掘


e.g: helping people tap into training opportunities

幫助人們接觸到更多的培訓機會


6、On the bright side, all of our facilities are handicap accessible.

往好處想,我們的設備都方便殘疾人使用。


look on the bright side

樂觀點;往好處想。臺詞中作狀語把look省略了。


e.g: Come on, try to look on the bright side.

拜託,還是往好處想吧。


7、You have to call off the hit.

你就只能取消這次暗殺。


call somebody/something off

取消;命令...中止;命令...離開


e.g: The trip to Italy might be called off.

去意大利的行程估計被取消了。


8、—What about the predator?
—No dice. I tried hacking that too.

—"掠奪者"無人機能攻破嗎?
—沒可能,我也試過了。


no dice

沒門;不可能;徒勞的


e.g: 'Can I borrow some cash?' 'Sorry, no dice.'

“我能借點錢麼?” “不好意思,沒門。”


9、I, for one, don't think she can make it. But you can.

這次我覺得她救不了你,但你能自救。

依我看來...;從我的立場看...


e.g: I, for one, am proud of the team's effort.

就我而言,我爲團隊的努力而驕傲。


10、Alex, pull back. It's too dangerous.

艾麗克絲,收手吧,太危險了。

e.g: In the end, he pulled back from financing the film.
