People use the idiom "water under the bridge" to express that a past event cannot be changed.

人們用"歲月流逝"這個短語來形容一個過去的事件已經無法改變。

You can't control the natural flow of water,

你無法改變自然流動的水，

just as you can't go back and change the course of a past event.

就如你無法回到過去，亦或是改變歷史發展進程。
