職場工作英語技巧:如何跟老闆說話
1.申請許可
Wouldn't it be possible for me to take the day off this Friday?
這個星期五,我是否可以休一天假?
請休假用take the day off.如果是兩天以上就用days off.老闆會很乾脆地答應說that'll be OK,或是會帶有不悅意味回答will everything be all right?(一切都安排就緒了嗎?),這些都要看你平時的工作表現而定.
2.提議
I think we need to buy a new copier.
我想我們需要買一臺新的影印機.
說出上句之前,必須說明our copying machine has broken down again.(影印機又出毛病了)以作為提案的依據.客氣一些的提議,用suggest如I would suggest we buy a new copier.
3.表示瞭解上司的指示
Yes, of course.
是,我知道了.
也可用I understand(我明白了),或Yes, right away(好的馬上去做),對上司說OK,或 all right並不恰當.很忙時,說I'm sorry, but I'm busy now. Could I do it later?
4.確認上司指示的內容
Yor did say next Tuesday at 2:00 P.M.,didn't you?
您是說在下星期二下午2點,是不是?
任何事都必須確認一下.如果對方是外國人更要如此.上句也可直截了當地說let me confirm (make sure of)
(讓我確認一下時間和日期)
5.報告商談結果
I had a feeling he was in favor of the plan.
我覺得他贊成那個計劃.
記住I have a feeling (that)...(我覺得......),及......(that ) he was against the plan.(他反對那個計劃)這兩句話都很管用.
