今天是端午節了，但我不知道端午節的來歷。媽媽告訴我，戰國時期，楚國有一個叫屈原的大臣，小人對皇上說了屈原的壞話，皇上不再信任屈原，就把他流放到遠方，他很傷心就跳河殉國了。老百姓們爲了紀念他，就往河裏扔吃的東西，最後形成了端午節。

早晨我睜開了眼睛，聞到弟弟在吵鬧的聲音。走出來一看，他們正在吃種子呢!我迫不及待地刷完牙便抓起一個種子津津有味的吃了起來。中午十二時，我和弟弟去洗“健康澡”。不一會我和弟弟在水中打起了“水杖”。

雖然我家沒有掛艾草。但我過了一個有趣的端午節。

農曆五月初五端午節，是我國二千多年的舊習俗，每到這一天，家家戶戶都懸鐘馗像，掛艾葉菖蒲，賽龍舟，吃糉子，飲雄黃酒，遊百病，佩香囊。

端午節最早源於戰國時期，當時有個叫屈原的楚國人，他在楚王身邊做官，是一位忠臣。昏君楚王聽信奸臣的話，把屈原削職流放。在流放中，屈原聽說楚國的的都城被敵人佔領，百姓遭難，悲憤極了。五月初五這一天，他來到汨羅江邊，懷抱一塊石頭，以縱身跳入汨羅江中。出國的百姓聽到屈原投江的消息，都十分悲痛。他們含着淚划着船趕來打撈屈原，還把糉子扔到江裏餵魚，希望魚兒不要傷害屈原的身體。這就是五月端陽包糉子的來歷。

而賽龍舟是楚人因爲捨不得賢臣屈原死去，於是有許多人划船追趕拯救。他們爭先恐後，追至洞庭湖時不見蹤跡，是爲龍舟競渡之起源，後每年五月五日划龍舟以紀念之。而糉子則是百姓不忍心忠臣被魚蝦吃食，故而將米飯等食品做成糉子投入江中，以求保屈原全屍。

小孩還要掛香囊的。端午節小孩佩香囊，不但有避邪驅瘟之意，而且有襟頭點綴之風。香囊內有硃砂、雄黃、香藥，外包以絲布，清香四溢，再以五色絲線弦扣成索，作各種不同形狀，結成一串，形形色色，玲瓏奪目。

端午節還有掛艾葉、菖蒲的習慣：在端午節，家家都以菖蒲、艾葉、榴花、蒜頭、龍船花，製成人形稱爲艾人。將艾葉懸於堂中，剪爲虎形或剪綵爲小虎，貼以艾葉，婦人爭相佩戴，以僻邪驅瘴。用菖蒲作劍，插於門楣，有驅魔祛鬼之神效。
