隱患叢生 超八成受訪者希望加強電動自行車的管理

More than 80 percent of respondents to a recent China Youth Daily survey suggest tightening management on electric bicycles.

據《中國青年報》近期的一項調查表明，超過八成的受訪者建議對電動自行車加強管控。

The survey was released last Tuesday.

這項調查發佈於上週二。

Of the 2,008 people it polled, 63.5 percent have electric bicycles.

在參與調查的2008人中，63.5%的人擁有電動自行車。

Nearly 90 percent of those interviewed said improper behaviors are common among riders, including going too fast (56.5 percent), running red lights (52.6 percent) and driving in the wrong direction (52.3 percent).

約9成接受調查的人表示，他們經常看到騎行者的違法行爲，其中超速佔56.5%，闖紅燈佔52.6%，逆向行駛佔52.3%。

A total of 64.4 percent of the respondents want better policing, while 59.3 percent suggested riders should be registered.

64.4%的受訪者希望管理更加完善，而59.3%的受訪者則提議應登記車主信息。

Zhao Jie, director of the Urban Transport Institute with China Academy of Urban Planning and Design, said though electric bicycles use should be encouraged among the public, management should be strengthened to reduce accidents.

中國城市規劃設計研究院的城市交通專業研究院院長趙傑表示，儘管應該鼓勵公衆使用電動自行車，但需要加強管理，從而減少事故的發生。
