韓劇《太陽的後裔》在華掀收視狂潮

South Korean drama "Descendants of the Sun" has collected more than 200 million views on iQiyi, the Chinese streaming website said Tuesday.

中國熱門流媒體網站愛奇藝週二表示，韓劇《太陽的後裔》在該網站的播放量已突破2億次。

The first four episodes have garnered a combined 280 million views as of Tuesday, the website, which holds the distributing rights in China, said.

這家在中國擁有播放權的網站表示，截至本週二，該劇前四集的播放量總計已經達到2億8千萬次。

"Descendants of the Sun", the first Korean show to premiere simultaneously in South Korea and China, is a love story between an Army captain (Song Joong-ki) and a doctor (Song Hye-kyo) who find themselves in a fictional war-torn country called Uruk, where both try to save lives.

《太陽的後裔》是首部中韓同步首播的韓劇，講述了一名部隊大尉(宋仲基飾)與一名醫生(宋慧喬飾)之間的愛情故事，他們發現自己身處一個戰火紛飛的虛構國度"烏魯克"，在那裏努力挽救生命。

"The show has become the talk of the town everywhere. Some shows even had live phone conversations with viewers to discuss its popularity," a Chinese entertainment official said.

一位中國娛樂部門的官方人員表示：“這一劇集已經成爲整個城市的談論熱點。一些節目甚至還與觀衆進行了電話交談，討論了該劇的普及程度。”

The ratings provided by both TNS Media Korea and AGB Nielson shows the K-drama earned over 20 percent in viewership rating for both the Seoul National Capital Area and nationwide.

To put things into perspective, a fifth of South Korea's population is 10 million people. Just a little over that number tuned in to watch the third episode of Descendants of the Sun.
