澳大利亞調整MH370搜尋海域

Missing Malaysia Airlines flight MH370 was "travelling faster than previously estimated" and authorities have redirected their search efforts based on this new information.

The Australian Maritime Safety Authority said new radar data from the international investigation team is its "most credible lead" to finding debris from the aircraft.

The new data suggests the aircraft was "travelling faster than previously estimated, resulting in increased fuel usage and reducing the possible distance the aircraft travelled south into the Indian Ocean," AMSA said.

Satellites are being re-tasked to image the new area - 1,100km to the north east.

The Australian Transport Safety Bureau said the potential flight path may be the subject of further refinement.

AMSA said there are now six vessels relocating to the new search area including HMAS Success and five Chinese ships.

"Weather conditions have improved in the area and ten aircraft are tasked for today's search," AMSA said.
