第31230號小行星永久命名爲"屠呦呦星"

Tu Youyou, a Chinese pharmacologist and winner of the 2015 Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine, is getting an asteroid named after her.

近日，一顆小行星以中國藥理學家、2015年諾貝爾生理學或醫學獎得主屠呦呦的名字而命名

The No.31230 asteroid was named "Tuyouyou", according to a statement issued by International Astronomical Union.

國際天文學聯合會近日發佈公報，將第31230號小行星永久命名爲"屠呦呦星"。

The asteroid was discovered on Jan 18, 1998 by Beijing Schmidt CCD Asteroid Program.

"屠呦呦星"由北京天文臺施密特CCD小行星項目組於1998年1月18日發現。

Tu Youyou discovered the antimalarial drug artemisinin, which has saved millions of lives, especially in developing countries.

屠呦呦發現了抗瘧藥物青蒿素，在全球範圍內特別是發展中國家挽救了數百萬人的生命。
