A Chinese internet celebrity has ignited public wrath after being photographed wearing a dress bearing the Chinese national flag at Cannes Film festival.

此事已經引起了媒體和公衆的各種反應，一些人批評這一行爲是非法的，還有人表示該服裝能夠提升中國的國際形象。Xu Dabao, an actress and online celebrity who has over 310,000 followers on Sina Weibo, posted several photos of herself wearing a Chinese national flag dress at Cannes Film Festival, explaining that she designed the outfit in an effort to showcase Chinese elements and support the country's Belt and Road Initiative.
徐大寶是一名演員、網紅，在新浪微博上有超過31萬的粉絲。在上傳了幾張自己身穿中國國旗參加戛納電影節的照片後，她解釋道，自己設計這套服裝是爲了展示中國元素，以及支持國家的“一帶一路”。
"In Western countries, if you wear outfits bearing the national flag, you are treated as a patriot. By wearing this dress, I wanted to show the world that I am Chinese and proud of my nationality! I don't understand why my compatriots would humiliate and misunderstand me," Xu wrote on her Sina Weibo.

According to the law, the national flag and its design cannot be used as a trademark or for advertising purposes, and cannot be used in private funeral activities.
