長文章究竟該怎麼解決呢?其實，無論是長文章還是短文章，只要是學術文章，閱讀方法都是一致的，那就是句間關係。

所謂句間關係，指的就是任何連續兩句話之間的關係。在GRE邏輯體系之內，只有兩種——同向和反向。如何判斷句間關係?But、Yet、however、Nevertheless。只要出現這四個詞中任何一個，兩句話之間就應該是取反的。通過這種方法，一篇文章再難，最終在你眼中也就變成“正”和“負”這兩個負號。以PP2(GRE官方模考軟件)的一篇短文章爲例：

? Objectively, of course, the various ecosystems that sustain life on the planet proceed independently of human agency, just as they operated before the hectic ascendancy of Homo sapiens. ? 第一句說人類沒有影響大自然，是個“-”。第二句出現了But，句間取反，於是就是說“人類影響了大自然”，是個“+”。後幾句都沒有出現句間取反的標識，所以每句話都是“+”。

GRE短篇和長篇閱讀數量

在GRE考試中，長篇閱讀的數量較少，基本上每個VERBAL SECTION都只會有一篇，而短閱讀數量則相對較多，可能在3篇左右。而在具體題目數量上，一篇長閱讀一般附帶4道題，而短篇閱讀則附帶1-2道題，閱讀部分題目數量佔據GRE語文部分題數的一半左右。

2. 長篇閱讀

長閱讀篇幅很多，但是也是有規律可循，因爲每篇文章都有固定的行文規定。

1. 讀了第一段，就應該知道作者說了什麼。 是提出一種現象並解釋;還是提出一個觀點並舉例說明;還是提出流行觀點然後質疑，並提出新觀點。如果是反駁，反駁的是理論還是支持此理論的事例或實驗?作者對所提出的這些觀點抱什麼態度等等。

2. 在看完第二句和第三句後，考生就應該知道此段的結構，比如是舉例說明作者觀點，還是分別駁斥作者反對的理論或是觀點。繼續讀的過程中，大家要很快地讀細節，能做到讀完知道細節是什麼，是一個實驗,還是一個人的觀點以及此人是誰等等。

3. 最後一段一般都包括作者的態度變化或是理論的提出。要讀懂內容，就需要找關鍵詞。在閱讀時，大家要注意對關鍵詞的挑選：表示觀點態度的副詞和形容詞、理論觀點中的關鍵名詞等。無論什麼題型，答案都在關鍵詞附近。所以對關鍵詞的印象很重要。
