英語口語表達 How is the word?

　　一名英國客人正在酒店訂房間，這時假設你是酒店的服務人員，想問問這位客人的名字如何拼寫，你應該怎麼用英文說呢？
　　錯誤說法：How to spell the name？
　　地道說法：How is the word?/How is the name spelt？
　　無論是初中學生和大學英語專業的學生，還是飯店服務員到各種機構譯員，不少人習慣的說着"How to spell the name?",這是個既不被人注意又不符合英語習慣的普遍錯誤。當然不是說how to spell這個短語本身有誤，而是不宜直接當作問題來問。當然，如果有人覺得好記一定要用這個的話，建議可以這樣說："Could you tell me how to spell the name,sir?”
