如何跟老外用英語聊中秋？

小涼風一吹，中秋就來咯！作爲我國傳統佳節，中秋節和許多節日一樣，講究的是團圓，那麼在這個團聚的日子，即使不能回家，也要和好朋友們抱團過節才行。中秋節傳統大家都很熟悉，但是隨着中國節日越來越國際化，你能夠用英語介紹中秋習俗嗎？

y the sweet Moon cakes － 月餅小口吃

For a long while in my childhood, moon cake is another name for the Mid-Autumn Festival. These sweet little things sweep the country when the day comes, it’s probably the biggest kind in Chinese pastry. You have your Beijing-style moon cake, your Cantonese-style, your Ninbo-style, and when it comes to fillings, there are lotus seed paste, sweet bean paste, and salted yolk or whatever. Now they even have western things in the moon cakes, like coffee and chocolate. All together in a small cake, just one bite and it’s like heaven. Anyway, one thing I love about our traditions is that we always relate our special days with food, that’s the spirit.

在童年的相當一段時間裏，我一直把月餅跟中秋節劃等號。每到中秋，這些小甜食就橫掃全國。月餅可能是種類最多的中國糕點了，我們有北京系的月餅，廣東系的還有寧波系的等等，從餡料來看又有蓮蓉的，紅豆的，蛋黃啊什麼的，現在甚至還有咖啡餡和巧克力餡這些“洋口味”，所有的精華都揉在一個小小的餅裏，咬一口下去就好吃的飛起了。總之，我很欣賞我國傳統節日總是與食物相聯繫，這纔是過節的精神嘛。

Tips：

1）a long while就相當於a long time，泛指很長一段時間

2）sweep the country是橫掃全國，火爆全國的意思，sweep在這裏可以理解成很流行。相當於all over

3）pastry是指糕點，並且一般是指油皮和酥皮的糕點，並不能泛指我們中文裏常說的點心，甜點這些。烘焙在西方飲食文化裏非常巨大的一塊，所以與烘焙有關的詞彙也是很多很細緻的。

4）我們通常說a kind就是一種，而a big kind就是指很大一類，包含很多樣式的一個種類。

5）口語中常說的it’s heaven或it’s like heaven，可以理解成流行語裏常說的，上天了，飛起了，也就是形容感覺非常棒。例如：

We kissed for the first time and, God it’s heaven.

我們第一次親親的時候，感覺簡直妙極了。

y the full moon watching － 賞月正當時

When was the last time you actually admired the moon? As for me, I can hardly recall. But in the old times people watch the moon all the time, it’s a shame that we don’t appreciate nature these days. But not in the Mid-Autumn day, only once in a year we get to see this shining full moon so please grab the chance to take a walk with the ones you love in the moonlight. That way, we are not entirely losing who we are.

你上一次凝望月亮是什麼時候？對我來說，真的已經記不清了。舊時候人們非常熱愛賞月，而現在我們慢慢不再那樣對自然景觀充滿熱情了，這說起來也是很遺憾的。不過在中秋這一天可以是個例外，每年也就這麼一天，我們可以看到散落着光芒的滿月，所以請一定珍惜這個機會，跟你愛的人一起在月光下踱步，留下這段時光。這樣欣賞自然的天賜，我們纔算留住了一些本真呀。

Tips:

1）admire，watch還有gaze都可以來表示賞月，畢竟漢語博大精深，一個賞字就此處無聲勝有聲了，但是英語裏表示“賞”這個意味的詞卻有很多呢，可以根據語境來選擇。通常在不太正式的語境裏，用watch the moon就可以表達到賞月的意思了，而滿月一詞可以說full moon。

2）recall這個詞我們平時可能接觸的不多，或者說許多時候把它跟remember搞混了。一般表示想起，記起的意思都可以用recall，但remember更多表達的是記憶，記住。

3）the old times就是過去的意思，一般指年代稍久遠一些的過去。

4）口語中常說的what a shame我們都知道是遺憾的意思，這裏shame就有遺憾的義項

5）these days是最近，近些時候的意思，一般是指時下，當下，可以是幾天到幾年之內的時間範圍。

6）get to do是可以做某事，能夠做某事。

7）grab the chance其實就是take the chance，grab在這裏就可以理解爲抓住，跟我們常說的抓住機會是一樣的。

y the get-together － 團圓不能忘

It’s not a piece of cake to get everyone home in the holidays any more. Most of us are now living a busy life, it’s hard to make time coming home to our family even in this special day. But let’s at least keep the spirit, those who can’t get back home don’t have to be alone, a little get-together with friends could be nice, also give the festival a little more meaning. It’s really about being together.

讓家人能在假期團聚已經不是小菜一碟的事了，大部分人都過上了忙碌的生活，即使在中秋這個日子能回家團圓很難了。不過我們至少應該留住節日的精神，那些不能回家的人也不必非得孤單的自己過節啊，能跟朋友們小聚一下也是不錯的。這樣也讓中秋有了更深的一層含義，也讓團圓更具深意。

Tips：

1）a piece of cake可以理解成我們常說的小菜一碟，就是非常容易做到的事。

2）live a busy life是過忙碌的生活，相應的把busy換成其他的形容詞也是可以的。

3）make time就是擠時間，抽出時間來做某事。

4）come home to somebody不一定是特指回到誰家，而是指回到某人身邊。

5）get-together相比起我們常常聽到歪果仁說的party可能更陌生一些，跟party相比get-together規模更小，可以理解成小聚
