英語口語培訓：食物變壞的幾種說法

如果想表達“食物壞了”，一般有以下幾種表達：
1. Spoil 變質了
例句：
The cake will spoil if the temperature above 20℃.
這個蛋糕在溫度在20攝氏度以上時，會變質。
2. Go off
例句：
The milk has gone off.
牛奶變質了。
3. Go bad
例句：
The food has gone bad; don't eat it.
這食物已經壞了，別吃了。
“變酸了”英語怎麼說?
想表達食物“變酸了”，可以用：Turn sour。變餿了的英文也是這個。
例句：
Do not drink the bottle of milk, because it has turned sour.
別喝這瓶牛奶，因爲它已經變酸了。
“發黴”英語怎麼說?
“發黴”的英語表達是：Mildew。
例句：
The grain is liable to mildew when the humidity in the barn is too high.
倉庫裏潮氣太大，糧食就容易發黴。
Things easily get mildewed in the rainy season.
梅雨季節東西容易發黴。
“食品過期”英語怎麼說?
“食品過期”的英語表達是：Expired food。
例句：
Do not eat expired food.
不要吃過期的食物。
順便說一下“保質期”的表達，有三種表達方式：
①use-by date
②best-before date
③expiration date
這個三個表達之間的區別：
Expiration dates tell consumers the last day a product is safe to consume. Best before date on the other hand tells you that the food is no longer in its perfect shape from that date. It may just lose its freshness, taste, aroma or nutrients.
Expiration dates告訴消費者產品可以安全食用的最後一天。Best before date告訴你食物從那個日期起就不再處於最佳食用期了。
It does not necessarily mean that the food is no longer safe to eat. Best before date is basically a quality indicator.
它可能會失去它的新鮮，味道，香氣或營養。這並不一定意味着食物不再安全。Best before date基本上是一個質量指標。
Another term that gets mixed up with this is the use by date which applies only to perishable goods such as fresh fish or meat. Dispose them off immediately once they have passed the use by date.
