英語寓言故事：我們的問題

摘要：下一次當我們聽到同伴當中的一員遇到問題時，不要想這不關自己的事，不會影響自己。記住，如果我們中任何一個人遇到麻煩，我們都將處於危險之中。

A little Mouse living on a farm was looking through a crack in the wall one day and saw thefarmer and his wife opening a package.

The mouse was intrigued by what food the package may contain. He was aghast to discoverthat it was a mousetrap. The mouse ran to the farmyard warning everyone： “There is amousetrap in the house， there is a mousetrap in the house.”

一天，一隻住在農場的小老鼠透過牆上的洞看到農場主和他的妻子打開了一個包裹。

我們的問題

小老鼠很好奇裏面裝的是什麼好吃的食物。但是令它震驚的是，裏面居然是一個老鼠夾。於是它跑到農場的院子裏向每一個動物警告說：“屋裏有一個老鼠夾!屋裏有一個老鼠夾!”

The chick raised his head and said， “Mr. Mouse， I can tell you this trap is a grave concern toyou， but it has no consequence to me and I cannot be bothered with it.”

一隻小雞擡起頭說：“老鼠先生，我敢說老鼠夾是專爲你設置的，不會給我帶來任何後果，我用不着擔心。”

The mouse turned to the pig， “I am so sorry Mr. Mouse， but the trap is no concern of mineeither!” the pig said.

老鼠轉向豬。“我也很抱歉，老鼠先生，老鼠夾和我也沒有任何關係。”小豬說道。

The mouse then turned to the bull， “It sounds like you have a problem， Mr. Mouse， but notone that concerns me.” the bull said.

老鼠又去跟牛講。老牛對它說：“聽起來你好像遇到了麻煩，老鼠先生，但是這也不關我的事。”

The mouse returned to the house， head down and dejected that no one would help him or hasconcerned about his dilemma.

老鼠耷拉着腦袋回到屋子裏，他感到很沮喪，因爲沒有誰願意幫助它，沒有誰爲它的困境擔心。

He knew he had to face the trap on his own. That night the sound of a trap catching its preywas heard throughout the house. The farmer’s wife rushed to see what was caught. In thedarkness she could not see that it was a venomous snake whose tail the trap had caught.

它只有獨自面對這個老鼠夾了。那天晚上大家都聽到了夾子夾住東西的聲音。農夫的妻子急忙跑過去看是什麼被抓住了。黑暗中她看不清，其實是一條毒蛇的尾巴被夾住了。

The snake bit the farmer’s wife. The wife caught a bad fever and the farmer knew the best wayto treat a fever was with chicken soup. The farmer took his hatchet to the farmyard to get thesoup’s main ingredient.

農夫的妻子被毒蛇咬了一口，發起了高熱。農夫知道最好的退熱辦法是喝雞湯，於是他拿着菜刀走進院子去取做湯的原料。

The wife got sicker and friends and neighbors came by to take turns sitting with her round theclock. The farmer knew he had to feed them， so he butchered the pig.

農夫的妻子病得更重了，朋友和鄰居們輪流來看她。農夫必須招待他們，所以就把豬殺了。

The farmer’s wife did not get better， in fact she died and so many friends and family came toher funeral that the farmer had to slaughter the bull to feed all of them.

農夫的妻子還是沒有好轉，最後還是死了，很多朋友和家人來參加她的葬禮，農夫只有殺牛來招待他們。

So the next time we hear that one of our teammates is facing a problem and think it does notconcern or effect us， let us remember that when any one of us is in trouble， we are all at risk.

所以，下一次當我們聽到同伴當中的一員遇到問題時，不要想這不關自己的事，不會影響自己。記住，如果我們中任何一個人遇到麻煩，我們都將處於危險之中。

Life is a celebration. Be happy and make others happy.

生活就是聯歡，高興一點，讓其他人也高興起來!

　　愛與時間

Once upon a time, there was an island where all the feelings lived: Happiness, Sadness,Knowledge, and all of the others, including Love. One day it was announced to the feelingsthat the island would sink, so all constructed boats and left. Except for Love.

從前有一個島，所有的情感都住在那裏：幸福、悲傷、知識和所有其它的，愛也不例外。一天，所有的情感聽說小島即將沉沒，因此建造小船，紛紛離開，除了愛。

Love was the only one who stayed. Love wanted to hold out until the last possible moment.

愛是唯一留下來的，因爲它希望能堅持到最後一刻。

When the island had almost sunk, Love decided to ask for help.

小島即將沉沒了，愛決定請求幫助。

Richness was passing by Love in a grand boat. Love said,

富有駕着一艘大船從愛身邊經過，愛說，

"Richness, can you take me with you?"

“富有，你能帶上我麼?”

Richness answered, "No, I can't. There is a lot of gold and silver in my boat. There is no placehere for you."

富有回答說：“不行，我的船上載滿金銀財寶，沒有你的地方。”

Love decided to ask Vanity who was also passing by in a beautiful vessel. "Vanity, please helpme!"

虛榮坐在漂亮的小船中從愛身邊駛過，愛問：“虛榮，你能幫助我麼?”

"I can't help you, Love. You are all wet and might damage my boat," Vanity answered.

虛榮說：“不行，你全身溼透，會弄髒我的船。”

Sadness was close by so Love asked, "Sadness, let me go with you."

悲傷的船靠近了，愛問：“悲傷，請帶我走吧。”

"Oh . . . Love, I am so sad that I need to be by myself!"

“哦... 愛，我太難過了，想一個人呆着。”

Happiness passed by Love, too, but she was so happy that she did not even hear when Lovecalled her.

幸福經過愛的身邊，它太開心了，根本沒聽見愛在呼喚。

Suddenly, there was a voice, "Come, Love, I will take you." It was an elder. So blessed andoverjoyed, Love even forgot to ask the elder where they were going. When they arrived at dryland, the elder went her own way. Realizing how much was owed the elder,

突然，一個聲音喊道：“來，愛，我帶你走。” 聲音來自“年老”。愛太高興了，甚至忘了問他們即將去何方。當他們來到岸上，年老自己離開了。愛突然意識到“年老”給了它多大的幫助。

Love asked Knowledge, another elder, "Who Helped me?"

於是，愛問另一位老者--知識：“誰幫助了我?”

"It was Time," Knowledge answered.

知識說：“是時間。”

"Time?" asked Love. "But why did Time help me?"

“時間?”愛問：“但是時間爲什麼幫助我?”

Knowledge smiled with deep wisdom and answered, "Because only Time is capable ofunderstanding how valuable Love is."

知識睿智地微笑道：“因爲只有時間瞭解愛的價值。”
