世界捐贈指數排名:中國大陸倒數第二

Which country has the most generous people in the world? A poll of 153 countries ranked global philanthropy in three categories: individual donations, volunteer time, and the number of people willing to help a stranger. Gallup’s 2010 World Giving Index Report was released Wednesday.

哪個國家的國民最慷慨？一項按個人捐贈、做志願者的時間和願意幫助陌生人三項指標調查了全球153個國家，給他們的慈善情況排名。蓋洛普民意調查週三公佈了《2010世界捐助指數報告》。

The US tied with Switzerland for the fifth place. In the US，60 percent have donated to organizations, 39 percent once were volunteers at organizations and 65 percent are willing to help a stranger.

美國與瑞士並列第五。在美國，向機構捐贈的人佔60%，在機構當過志願者的人有39%，願意幫助陌生人的人爲65%。

Ireland and Canada were tied for the third place. Ireland is one of the many nations where women are more likely to help a stranger than men. Canadians' higher rank than Americans is based largely on their giving more money to charities. Canada has more government-led charity campaigns than the US.

愛爾蘭和加拿大並列第三。在愛爾蘭，很多國家，女性都比男性更傾向於幫助陌生人，愛爾蘭是其中之一。加拿大人排在美國前面的主要原因在於，他們向慈善事業捐的錢比較多。在加拿大，由政府領導的慈善事業也要比美國多。

New Zealand and Australia tied for first place with WGI scores of 57 percent. The WGI report stated that New Zealand and Australia have a history of emphasizing the importance of donating to those less fortunate. In both countries, philanthropy is strongly supported by the government.

新西蘭和澳大利亞捐助指數達到57%。捐助指數報告稱，這兩個國家歷來都重視爲那些幸運的人給予捐助，慈善事業也得到政府的大力支持。

China ranked near the bottom, barely higher than last-place Madagascar.

Overall, the Gallup poll noted three trends: that helping complete strangers is the leading way the world gives, the happiest countries donate more than the wealthiest, and older people donate more.

整體來說，蓋洛普這項民意測試得出三種趨勢：幫助陌生人是世界捐獻的主要形式；最快樂的國家比最富有的國家捐助的多；年紀長的人捐獻得多。
