史蒂芬·霍金在採訪中大談英國脫歐和特朗普

Professor Stephen Hawking has warned that a hard Brexit would be hugely damaging to the UK.

史蒂芬·霍金教授日前警告稱，艱難的脫歐會對英國造成巨大的損害。

He said it would leave us "isolated and inward-looking".

他表示，這會使得我們“孤立和只關心自己”。

Prof Hawking added: "Instead, we should retain as many links as possible with Europe and the rest of the world, particularly China."

霍金教授還補充道：“相反，我們應該與歐洲和世界其它地區，尤其是中國，保持儘可能多的聯繫。”

"By remaining in the EU, we would have given ourselves more influence in the world. And we would provide future opportunities for young people, but leaving Europe threatens Britain's status as a world leader in science and innovation."

“通過留在歐盟，我們的世界影響力會更大。我們將爲年輕人提供未來的機會，但是離開則會威脅英國作爲科學和創新世界領導者的地位。”

The scientist, 75, also criticised Donald Trump and his supporters in the interview.

此外，這位75歲的科學家還在採訪中批評了唐納德·特朗普以及他的支持者。

He said Mr Trump's election as US President represents a more authoritarian approach.

他表示，特朗普當選美國總統代表着一個更爲專制的方式。

Prof Hawking said: "He was elected by people who felt disenfranchised by the governing elite in a revolt against globalisation. His priority will be to satisfy his electorate who are neither liberal, nor that well-informed."

霍金教授指出：“在反對全球化的浪潮中，特朗普是由被那些感到被執政精英剝奪權力的人選舉產生的。他首先考慮的事情將是滿足他的那些既非自由主義又非消息靈通的選民。”

He added: "I would like to visit again and to talk to other scientists but I fear that I may not be welcome."

他還補充道：“我想要再次造訪美國其他科學家，並且和他們交流，但是恐怕我不會受到歡迎了。”
