零下196度低溫沉睡18年 中國最"抗凍"寶寶出生了

A healthy baby girl was born in China from an embryo frozen 18 years ago, medical officials said last Wednesday.

據醫療人員上週三表示，中國一健康的女嬰從一枚冷凍了18年的胚胎中出生。

A 45-year-old woman gave birth to a girl, weighing 3,300 gm, in Jiangsu province. The embryo was implanted into her womb in November 2015, Xinhua news agency reported.

據新華社報道，江蘇省一位45歲的女士誕下了這名重3300克的女嬰。這枚胚胎是於2015年11月植入她的子宮的。

She suffered from blocked fallopian tubes and tried to conceive through In Vitro Fertilisation (IVF) in 1998. After three failed implantations, one with a fresh embryo and two with frozen, she decided to wait and try again.

因輸卵管堵塞，該女士於1998年進行試管受精治療，希望能通過這種方法懷孕。在一次新鮮胚胎移植與兩次冷凍胚胎移植共三次植入治療失敗後，她決定等等再說。

At the beginning of 2015, she went back to the hospital hoping to have another try. Doctors found that she suffered from hydrosalpinx and a thin endometrium. After a surgery, she had the embryo implanted.

2015年初，她來到醫院希望再試一次。醫生檢查發現她存在輸卵管積水和子宮內膜薄的問題。經過手術治療後，胚胎得以順利移植。

Frozen embryos are stored in liquid nitrogen at minus 196 degrees Celsius. According to the Shanghai health department, the storage life for frozen embryos should be kept within five years.

冷凍胚胎被保存在零下196度的液態氮中。據這家上海醫療中心介紹，冷凍胚胎的貯存壽命一般控制在5年之內。

"In reality, we will continue storing embryos as long as the patients ask us to do," said a medical official.

一名醫療人員表示：“在實際操作中，我們會一直爲患者保存冷凍胚胎，只要他們不放棄。”
