Insomnia is bad enough on its own but research has shown that those who can't sleep double their risk of certain cancers. In men it is prostate cancer. The less sleep you get the more likely you are to develop cancer.

According to the National Cancer Institute, cooking beef, pork poultry or fish using high-temperature methods, like grilling, can form chemicals that have been linked to cancer in animals. It can lead to colorectal cancer and prostate cancer.

Apparently working the night shift disrupts sleep patterns, suppresses melatonin production and deregulates genes involved in tumor development.

Researchers believe the chemicals soak into the skin and disrupt cells in certain parts of the body. Parabens are also found in face washes but no link between face washes and cancer has been identified yet.

We have already seen diesel fumes on this list but when you factor in all different types of pollutants in the air you could be at a high risk of cancer. While this isn't a major problem in most first world countries, it is in developing nations and in China where air quality is a severe health risk due to smog and pollution.
