  聖經裏的經典英語句子【熱門篇】

耶穌說,我就是道路,真理,生命。若不借着我。沒有人能到父那裏去。

(1)“你們不要論斷人,就不被論斷;你們不要定人的罪,就不被定罪;你們要饒恕人,就必蒙饒恕。”(Do not judge, and you will not be judged; and do not condemn, and you will not be condemned; pardon, and you will be pardoned.)《新約·路加福音》第6章37節。

跟我們老祖宗常說的“惡言不出於口,忿言不返於身”(《禮記》)類似。 教育我們待人接物應該秉持的原則和如何作人的道理。

舊約的最大特點是"信念"。這句話就是無比堅定的信念,既是相信上帝,又是相信作爲上帝選民的自己。以色列人的輝煌,大半緣自信念。

典出《新約 馬太福音》第12章33節。

此典和漢語中的“窺一斑而知全豹”、“什麼樹結什麼果”是類似的意思。比喻我們要注重我們的言行,免得結出“惡果”干犯了聖靈。因爲神要因着我們的行爲來施行審判。

“有人打你的右臉,連左臉也轉過來有他打;有人想要告你,要拿你的裏衣,連外衣也有他拿去;有人強逼你走一里路,你就同他走二里。”(If anyone strikes you on the right cheek, turn the other also. If anyone wants to sue you and take your shirt, let him have your coat also. Whoever forces you to go one mile, go with him two.)

《新約·馬太福音》第5章-節。

彰顯了作爲基督徒應有的忍讓和寬容。 恐怕這也是《聖經》中被誤解和爭議最多的一句了。

“少有財寶,敬畏耶和華,強如多有財寶,煩亂不安。吃素菜,彼此相愛,強如吃肥牛,彼此相恨。”(Better is a little with the fear of the LORD, Than great treasure and turmoil with it. better is a dinner vegetables where love is than a fatted ox and hatred with it.)《舊約·箴言》第章-節。

這一典故讓我想起了孔子的“不義而富且貴,於我如浮雲”。 看來經典都是相通的。

“不要爲自己積攢財寶在地上,地上有蟲子咬,能鏽壞,也有賊挖窟窿來偷;只要積攢財寶在天上,天上沒有蟲子咬,不能鏽壞,也沒有賊挖窟窿來偷。因爲你的財寶在哪裏,你的心也在哪裏。”(Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy, and where thieves break in and steal. But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroys, and where thieves do not break in or steal.)《新約 馬太福音》第6章-節。

這裏的意思是不要只爲生活而挖空心思地聚斂財富——真正的財富是精神和信仰上的。

耶穌又對請他的人說:“你擺設宴席,倒要請那貧窮的、殘廢的、瘸腿的、瞎眼的,你就有福了!因爲他們沒有什麼可報答你。到義人復活的時候,你要得到報答。”(But when you give a reception, invite the poor, the crippled, the lame, the blind, and you will be blessed, since they do not have the means to repay you; for you will be repaid at the resurrection of the righteous.)《新約·路加福音》第章節。

意即我們要憐憫和幫助那些需要幫助的人,因爲《聖經》教導我們說“施比受更爲有福!”
