全書以10單元爲段分成兩大部分，Unit 1-Unit 10，旨在培養紮實的英語聽力基本功，結合10個單元的主題，強調聽力能力從“點”到“鏈”到“面”的漸進過程。Unit 11-Unit 20，重點在於培養學習者抓住字面及其隱含意義的能力。結合10個單元的主題，通過單句理解、短對話和篇章理解等多種形式的練習，提高聽力能力。
