比較級的用法

　　1.句型：A+動詞+形容詞比較級+than + B.

二者相比較，說明“A比B更„„一些”時要用一個連詞than引導的從句。

His brother is younger than I (me). 他哥哥比我小。

Mary is happier than Jane. 瑪麗比珍妮幸福。

注意

than後面接代詞時，一般要用主格。但在口語中也可使用賓格。 Beijing is more beautiful than Wuhan. 北京比武漢美麗。 You look younger today.

今天你看起來比較年輕。(省略了than before) 注意

than是一個連詞，它連接一個狀語從句來表示和什麼相比，因此than一般都譯爲“比”，通常，爲了避免重複，從句中有些成分可以省略，而把相比的部分突出來。有時，如果比較的對象顯而易見時，往往會將than從句省略。

完整句子：

You look younger today than you looked(young)before. (這樣的句子只是幫助理解，實際應用中，不能出現) Are you feeling better?

你現在感覺好些了嗎?

4 需注意的比較級用法

Your room is much larger than mine. 你的房間比我的大多了。

Your room is three times larger than mine. 你的房間比我的大三倍。

He is taller than any other boy in his class. 在班上，他比任何一個男孩子都高。

　　1.在形容詞比較級前還可以用much, even, still, a little,„„來修飾，表示“„„的多”，“甚至„„”，“更„„”，“„„一些”。

Our city is much more beautiful than yours. 我們的城市比你們的漂亮得多。 This is even harder than steel. 這個東西甚至比鋼還硬。 He is even slower than before. 他比以前更慢了。

Japan is a little larger than Germany. 日本只比德國大一點兒。

　　2.表示倍數：„times+形容詞比較級+than„ Our room is twice larger than theirs. 我們的房間比他們的大二倍。

The Yangzi River is ten times longer than the river in your city. 長江比你們城市的河長十倍。

　　3.表示“大三歲”，“高二釐米”時要用《表示數、量的詞+比較級》來表示。

I'm two years older than you. 我比你大二歲。

She is a head taller than I(me). 她比我高一個頭。

　　4.《比較級+ than any other +單數名詞》表示“比其他的任何„„都„„”

(這個句型是用比較級形式表達最高級的意思。) He is better than any other student in the class. 他在班裏，比任何一個別的學生都好。 (暗指：他是最好的) 注意

any other後要加單數名詞，如果譯成“任何一個別的”似乎好理解它爲什麼接單數名詞。

This watch is more expensive than any other watch in the shop. 在這個店裏，這隻表比其他任何一個別的表都貴。(這隻表是最貴的)

　　5.《比較級+and+比較級》譯爲“越來越„„” The earth is getting warmer and warmer. 地球變得越來越暖和。

China is more and more beautiful. 中國變得越來越美麗 注意

多音節形容詞用此句型時，要用more and more +形容詞原級;而不能用more beautiful and more beautiful.

　　6.《the+比較級„，the+比較級„》譯爲“越„„就越„„” The busier he is, the happier he feels. 他越忙就越高興。

The higher the ground(is),the thinner air becomes. 越高，空氣就越稀薄。

　　7.《the+比較級+ of the two》譯爲“兩個中比較„„的”。

This watch is the cheaper of the two. 這支手錶是兩個中比較便宜的。

He is the better of the two. 他是這兩個人中比較好的。

　　h(Who)is+比較級„?

比較A和B，問“哪一個較„„?”時用《Which is+比較級，A or B?》句型。如果是人與人相比時，用Who代替Which。

Which one is more popular, the radio or the movie? 收音機和電影，哪一個更普及?

The radio is.收音機。 注意

A or B，只能用or不能用and。 Who is happier, you or your father? 你和你父親，誰幸福? I am.我
