1. 《詩經》
《詩經》(The Book of Songs)是中國最早的詩歌總集，收錄了從西周初期到春秋中期約500年間創作的305首詩歌。最初，《詩經》被稱爲《詩》或《詩三百》。孔子以《詩經》作爲教科書教授弟子(disciple)。在漢代之後，它才被正式命名爲《詩經》。《詩經》裏的詩由四字詩構成，其語言簡潔，韻律輕快，風格簡單。《詩經》中的很多詩歌都真實反映了當時的生活和社會現狀。很多詩歌與愛情和婚姻有關。《詩經》的意識形態和藝術成就對後世詩歌的發展有極大的影響。

The Book of Songs is the earliest collection of poems in China. It contains 305 poems created over a period of some 500 years from the early Western Zhou Dynasty to the middle of the Spring and Autumn period. At first，The Book of Songs was known as Poems or Three Hundred Poems. Confucius used it as a textbook for teaching his disciples. After the Han Dynasty, it became known officially as the Book of Songs. Poems in the book are comprised of four-character verses, with concise language, refreshing rhymes and simple style. Many poems in it truthfully reflect the life and society of that time. A large number are about love and marriage. The ideological and artistic achievements of the Book of Songs had great influence on the development of poetry of later generations.
2. 《史記》
《史記》（Records of the Grand Historian）是一部偉大的史學著作，爲西漢時期（Western Han Dynasty)司馬遷所著。《史記》記載了我國從黃帝(Yellow Emperor)到西漢時期長達3000年左右的歷史。《史記》全書共52萬字，取材廣泛，內容豐富。特別值得一提的是，司馬遷不僅參考皇家的歷史記錄，還走遍中國求證信息的真僞。《史記》也是一部優秀的文學著作，對中國後世文學有着深遠的影響。

Written by Sima Qian in the Western Han Dynasty, Records of the Grand Historian is a great historical work. It records Chinese history of about 3,000 years from the time of Yellow Emperor to his own time. With a total of 520 thousand Chinese characters, the book includes a wide range of materials and is rich in contents. What is particularly worth mentioning is that Sima Qian not only referred to imperial historical records but also traveled around China to verify the information. Record of the Grand Historian is also an excellent literary work, exerting a far-reaching influence on Chinese literature of later generations.
【難點點撥】
1.第1句含兩個主要信息點，“《史記》是一部......”和“爲......司馬遷所著”，可用並列結構譯成Record of the Grand Historian is a... and written by...。但爲了使句子主次分明，可將前半句處理成主句，而後半句作狀語，用分詞短語Written by Sima Qian in the Western Han Dynasty來表達，置句首。
2.第3句有三個分句，其中的“取材廣泛，內容豐富”語義較緊密，故處理爲句子的並列謂語，“全書共52萬餘字”則處理爲伴隨狀語，本句中的“字”指“中國漢字”，應表達爲Chinese character，不宜譯爲word。
3.倒數第2句中的“特別值得一提的是”用句式What is particularly worth mentioning is that...來表達。“不僅.......還......”對應的結構爲not only... but also...。“求證信息的真僞”表目的，故將其處理成目的狀語，用不定式短語to verify information來表達。
4.最後一句中的“對中國後世文學有着深遠的影響”可處理爲伴隨狀語，用分詞短語exerting a far-reaching influence on..來表達。
3. 漢服
漢服，是指“漢民族傳統服飾”。漢服以蠶絲爲主要面料，幾千年來的總體風格以清淡平易爲主，講究天人合一。漢族古代的袍服(robe)最能體現這一風格，這種袍服的主要特點是寬袍，大袖。漢服由於華夏儒家文化(Confucian culture)的傳播而影響深遠。近些年，漢服再次在年輕人中流行起來，漢服愛好者自發舉辦活動，以此喚起人們對傳統文化的認識。

唐朝是中國古代最繁榮、興旺、燦爛、光榮的時期。因此，中國人穿的傳統服裝就被稱爲“唐裝(Tang suit)”。實際上，“唐裝”並不是唐朝的服裝。它的起源可以追溯到清朝，由馬褂(Chinese jacket)演變而來。唐裝的顏色多種多樣，最常見的是紅色、深藍色、金色和黑色。唐裝上一種常見的設計是使用漢字來表達好運和祝福。今天，仍然有很多人會在傳統的節日裏穿唐裝。

The Tang Dynasty was the most thriving, prosperous, splendid and glorious period in ancient China.As a result, the traditional clothing worn by the Chinese is called “Tang suit”. Actually, "Tang suit” is not the clothing of the Tang Dynasty. Its origin can be traced back to the Qing Dynasty, evolving from Chinese jacket. Tang suit is made in different colors, the most common are red, dark blue, gold and Black common design is the usage of Chinese characters to convey good luck and wishes. Today,there are still many people who would wear Tang suit during traditional festivals.
